For Whirlpool Internal Unbalance Switch (Part Number: OEM18019077)

Qumars for Model Number Maytag Neptune MAH4000 AWQ

Hi, I use this machine about once a month. It got a little louder over time. At times, I started adding extra water manually with a pitcher (I think it doesn't put enough water to the load) it has started to make a bit of screeching noise for a moment or two and then goes away. However, the main question I have is that now it stops in middle of the wash cycle, rinse or spin. No lights comes up. All I have to do is to push the START button and picks up where it was left off. Some times it happens two attempts and sometimes it doesn't even happen. But as time is passing by and it is used more frequent, the problem is getting worse. So, given the random and seldom screeching noise and increase frequency of the cycle not completing the task and requiring the START button to be pushed: 1- should I start with the door switch sensor or a different switch or the mother board? 2- How can I reduce/prevent the noise? Thank you in advance for your time to read and responding to me.

Hello Qumars. You are describing 2 different issues here with 2 different parts needed. For the noise, it needs the rear outer tub 22004465 for the bearings and for the board issue, you need to replace the CCU WP22002989 on the unit.

Bruce, More than likely it will be the wax motor that is not pushing out enough to allow the latch to engage.

Hello Aussie. Find the switch on the bottom of the tub and trace the two blue wires going to the switch. This will lead you to the intertial unbalance switch WP22003302. This is the easiest way to locate the switch on the unit.

Hi Roy. You need to go into the front of the washer by removing the door and hinge assy. Then remove the opposite door panel hinge holders. Then grasp the upper front panel inner /outer corners to slightly twist and pull out towards your waist. Then lift the front panel up and off the lower frame hinges, set the panel aside. The tub displacement switch part # WP22002044 and the inertia balance switch part # WP22003302 are mounted on the front rt. middle of the outer tub area. Thank You.

Hi Dan. There is a inertia unbalance switch part # WP22003302. It is mounted on the outer tub on the rt. side. By pass these 2- wires to momentarily see if this is the cause. Check the foot pads to see if they are still intact and gripping the floor OK. Is the shocks leaking ? This will permit the unbalance issue. Is the unit level front to back and side to side ? Are the leg lock nuts tight up against the base assy. while they are level ? You can use the tech sheet supplied w/ the unit folded in a packet and put the unit in a diagnostic mode to assist. Ohm out the motor windings. Check the tach. circuit for proper ohms and connections being tight. Are the motor and motor control board connections tight ? Thank You.
