Dee Broken Leg March 28, 2014 for Model Number WFW9150ww00 If the water level switch is faulty. will it make the washer unbalanced?
1 Answer Dee, To a slight degree it is possible. but not likely, that the water level could be high enough to cause the articles to tumble and "bunch up", and cause unbalanced loads. You need to check the more obvious and common issues, level the washer and lock the legs, check the shock absorbers and tub springs, proper loading, etc. Read More...
Joe March 26, 2014 for Model Number admiral washer atw4475xqo Have a intermittent over flow problem. It has done it 2 time in the last 3 months. I have checked the rubber tube and it is clear. I have blown into it and it is clear. With it hooked up, the switch clicks. I have unplugged it while it is filling and it stops. Any ideas? My wife wants a new one. She is scared to use it since it floods the laundry room. Thanks
1 Answer Hello Joe, This could be a water pressure issue, a water valve sticking issue, or a sticking pressure switch. To explain the first, there is no spring inside the water valve to aid in its' closure. Water pressure alone closes the valve. If the water pressure is low at the time it should close, it could be staying open and to add to this, if the water valve is sticking, this makes it that much harder for the valve to close. If you wanted to be sure the issue doesn't occur again, replace the water valve, the pressure switch, and make sure if there are any screens in the supply hoses, they are clean. Read More...
Bill B November 16, 2013 for Model Number W10339251 Occasionally the washer over-fills and gets the floor wet. Is it the pressure switch or what? Thanks in advance for your help.
1 Answer Hello Bill. If you can stop the water from entering the machine by turning off the timer or unplugging the unit, you will need to look for a bad pressure hose or replace the pressure switch. If the only way to shut off the water is at the shut off for the water hoses, you will need to replace the water valve in the unit. Read More...

Bucket May 13, 2013 for Model Number RTW440VQ2 The water selector is on warm wash/cold rinse. The water starts in warm like it should then after 20 seconds it changes to all cold. Never comes back to warm. Please tell me what part I need. The screens are clean and the hot water is working well.
1 Answer Bucket, The unit operates off of a thermistor that is in on the water valve. The thermistor will sense what the water temperature is and open and close according to the temp. If the incoming water temperature is above 70 degrees then the bimetal will not open to allow hot water to come in. It is possible that the bimetal is defective and water valve would need to be replaced. Read More...
Denny January 14, 2013 for Model Number MTW5600TQ1 How do I access the water pressure switch on my Maytag MTW5600TQ1 washer? Not sure how to get into the top panel.

Jim December 26, 2012 for Model Number ETW4400TQ1 I have an Estate washing machine (ETW4400TQ1). Sometimes when the washer is completely through the wash cycle and has stopped spinning, there will be 3" or 4" of water sitting in the bottom of the tub. It runs through the wash, rinse and spin cycles correctly but for some reason it doesn't completely drain the water out of the tub on the final spin.
1 Answer Hello Jim, You will want to check the pump to ensure that there is nothing clogged in it and check to make sure that the vanes are not broken. If broken replace the pump WP3363394. Read More...
Cherie H. November 12, 2012 for Model Number rtw4440vq1 Hi, I have a Roper washer the water level is filling proper however when it reaches the spin cycle the water does not stop running through the machine and is expelled as it spins. I googled this issue and saw a "test" that I performed. I shut the machine off but left the water on, the water did not continue to flow. The FixYa site said it was the pressure switch if the water shut off. I am trying to confirm that this is the problem before ordering the water level switch. Thank you!
1 Answer Hello Cherie, Basically, the way the test goes is to start the unit filling and unplug the machine. If the water continues to fill, the water valve has failed. If the water stops filling when it is unplugged, the issue is electrical. The pressure switch is the main cause of the issue, (excluding the harness being shorted and the pressure switch hose being clogged). Read More...
Chrystal G October 12, 2012 for Model Number NTW4500VQ1 I have an Amana washer, it fills up and works fine all the way until it gets to the rinse cycle, and then it doesn't fill up with any water. I've tried to get the rinse to work on all types-heavy, casual, and delicate, doesn't fill.
1 Answer Hello Chrystal. It sounds like the water valve may be bad and not letting the cold water come into the unit. You need to check and see if you can get cold water into the unit. If not, replace the water valve WPW10140917. Read More...
