Savo January 04, 2016 for Model Number ge ddg7287sblww My dryer runs but the igniter does not lite. Replaced the igniter and it still does not lite. replaced both main and dual gas valve coils and igniter still does not lite. I unpluged igniter and put my volt meter across the connector port and turned dryer on but was not getting 110 vac at igniter connecter. What can i do next.
1 Answer Hello Savo. You will need to check the thermal cutouts and the flame sensor on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Sheron November 17, 2015 I have a Capri cloths dryer, older model ? There is not a Model Number on it only what says part number, 339417 It will not cut off, just runs continually until I open the door then it will cut off. I can not find anything on Capri, do you have or recommend anything compatiable?
1 Answer Hello Sheron. Without a model number we can not determine which part you need. Either the timer or the motor is bad on the unit. Read More...
Laura October 28, 2015 for Model Number LE5700XSN0 I bought the thermal kit because the cut off was open and I broke the thermostat. I know how to put them back in now but I don't know where to put the wires. There is H1 and H2 which is the heating element but I don't know which is left and right. The thermostat wires say HS3 and Ht3/HS1 The HS3 wire connects to the H1 wire and the HT3/HS1 wire goes somewhere else in the dryer. Which one goes top and bottom on the thermostat?
1 Answer Laura, When installing this kit there will be a red wire that connected to the original thermal fuse that you will reconnect to it. Then there was a wire that jumped from the thermal fuse to the hi limit thermostat. Reconnect that wire. Then you will want to then take the jumper wire in the kit and jump it to one side of the heater element. The other red wire that goes down to the motor and would connect to the other side of the heater. Read More...
Joann N August 06, 2015 for Model Number GEQ9800PW1 When I turn my dryer on it doesn't do anything. It's not the breaker. Can you help me?
1 Answer Hello JoAnn. You will need to test the thermal fuse WP3392519 and the door switch WP3406107 on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Richard June 23, 2015 for Model Number Keye800talo My dryer takes longer than it use to to dry a load. I checked the voltage and made sure the vent is not clogged. It seems to get hot enough but then the heat seems to come and go.
1 Answer Hello Richard. If the unit is heating, then it sounds like the venting is the issue. You will need to check the blower wheel in the unit and make sure it is good. Also, check all the duct inside the dryer and make sure it is good and clean also. Read More...
Brad June 02, 2015 for Model Number 110.64892401 This is an electric dryer. There are 2 thermostats on the heating element tube. Are both supposed to have a meter value or only one of them?
Edmond S. January 30, 2015 for Model Number GEQ9800PW1 My dryer seems to be running too hot and cooking the clothes.
1 Answer Hello Edmond, You either have a shorted heating element or a shorted wiring harness. If contacts in the timer were stuck, the thermostats would still cycle the element on and off. If the cycling thermostat is stuck, the unit will still cycle on the high limit but will seem hotter than usual. Read More...
Neil B January 15, 2015 for Model Number 110.66962500 My dryer is heating but is not completely getting the clothes dry. I cleaned out the unit completely and it still isn't like it used to be. I did check the voltage and i am getting a full 240. Would a heating element go out slowly or is it something else? Thanks, Neil
1 Answer Neil, The first thing to always check with a non drying issue and the unit heating would be the dryer venting. Check the venting from the blower wheel to the outside of the home for restrictions. You can also try to pull the vent off the back of the dryer for 1 cycle and see if the drying improves and this will tell you for sure whether there is a vent restriction. Read More...
Curtis January 14, 2015 for Model Number LEC6848AN1 My electric dryer recently started running but had no heat. So I ordered replacement parts #439180 (heating element) part #3392519 (thermal fuse) & part # 3387134 ( cycling thermostat) . After installing each of these parts the dryer is still not producing any heat what else could be wrong?
1 Answer Hello Curtis. You need to make sure there is 240 volts at the terminal block on the unit. If so, then you need to check the thermal cut off kit 279769 and see if it is bad in the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3.
