1 Answer Hello Mel. You need to disconnect the power and remove the inner door liner to access the control board cover. Then remove the cover over the board to access the fuse and replace the fuse. Be sure and cut the wires off the old fuse and use the wiring harness with the new fuse W10258275 like the instructions say to do. Read More...
Walt May 10, 2012 for Model Number du1055xtpq4 The clean light flashes. I push start button and nothing happens. The clean light then starts flashing again.
1 Answer Hello Walt, The clean light blinking 7 times is a fault code for the water heating circuit on board the unit. If the control doesn't see a predetermined increase of temperature in a set amount of time, the code will flash. First off, be sure you always run the hot water at the sink before starting a cycle to shorten the wash cycle. The most probable cause of this fault code is the heating element going open. Other possible causes are the door switch WP8269209, the control board WP8564543, the Hi-limit thermostat WP661566, and the wiring harness. Of course the first thing I would recommend is to visually inspect the heating element Heating element kit- This dishwasher heating element is for stainless steel tubs only. Includes a new computer board that needs to be replaced along with the element. For plastic tubs use W10518394. Part Number: 8194200 . If it has burned in to of course it will need replacement. If there is a white place, or much lighter place present it will need to be tested to ensure your not replacing a good part. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html . The wiring diagram should be found behind the kick panel and will guide you to the fore-mentioned components which you may need to test. After repair you will also have to place the unit into the diagnostic mode to reset the control so it can run through cycles again. This procedure is as follows: On the control panel....heated dry, normal, heated dry, normal - OR - High temp, air dry, high temp, air dry. These keys must be pressed within 10 seconds to set the control into diagnostics. At this point you can allow it to go all the way through the self-diagnostic cycle or you can press cancel. Sure hope this helps you solve your problem! Read More...
Rick March 14, 2012 for Model Number du1055xtvs5 Normal cycle takes 3 hrs & dishes arn't dry, could it be the thermal fuse?
1 Answer Hello Rick. You will need to test the heater W10518394 and the thermostat WP661566 in the unit. They should read closed for continuity. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Ron February 29, 2012 for Model Number KUDL03ITSS2 The Lights on the control pannel freeze up intermittently, sometimes the cycle is long. What do you think is the problem?
1 Answer Hello Ron. Make sure the water coming into the unit is hot before starting the dishwasher. This will help with the long run times. As for the buttons on working, try removing the ribbon cable from the control board and cleaning it. If the problem continues, you will need to replace the control panel WPW10078108. Hope this helps. Bruce W. February 09, 2012 for Model Number MDB6709AWQ1 This is a MAytag dishwasher made by Whirlpool. I replaced the door latch assembly because the unit stopped working. Now I can get light on the right side of my control panel (options) but nothing on the left side (cycles) and therefore the unit will not operate. Could this be the thermal fuse or something else? Thanks
1 Answer Hi Bruce. Use a ohm meter Part # TJMA-12815A to see if the thermal fuse right b/4 the board is open. Part # W10258275. Then remove the lower kick panel and see if the thermal fuse at the bottom of the sump is open. It is part # WP661566. Check the heater for resistance and if it is open then replace it. Part # W10518394 . If the heater is open then the clean light will stay on and lock down to not operate . Thank You. Read More...
Jamey February 08, 2012 for Model Number 665.17032403 I have replaced the thermal fuse several times. The part number I have includes the wiring harness which I do not use. I would like the part number for the fuse only so I can save a few bucks.

Jeff January 26, 2012 for Model Number 66513742K600 Thank you for answering I checked the thermal fuse with a multi-meter and it was OK. I placed a order for a new control panel. You guys are the best.Would installing a new circit board with a old control panel ruin the new circuit board?
Jeff January 25, 2012 for Model Number 665.13742K600 Replaced control panel and door switches when pressing start button normal flashes and no operation
1 Answer Jeff, if the thermal fuse was "open" there would be no lights or operation on the control panel or the dishwasher. The flashing "normal" light would indicate a "stuck" or inoperative button on the control panel WP8558208. "WON’T RUN AND LED ABOVE KEY(S) IS BLINKING > Stuck key(s) or shorted circuit(s) in keypad. > Shorted circuits or connections on the control that read the keys." If you already replace the control panel/keypad assembly, re check and make sure the touchpad ribbon is properly connected, and is not kinked, creased or twisted. Thanks and Good Luck Read More...
Jose6394 December 30, 2011 for Model Number KUDI02FRSS1 The AP3010530 and this one are identical in the markings. Are they In fact the same part? It's the second one that has blown on me. Is there anything else that could be causing the overheating of this fuse. It seems when I run the dishwasher on "NORMAL", it runs indefinitely, I think. When I use the Sani Rinse. It ran a few times before blowing the bi-metal fuse again. Coincedence? What heats the water? Is it the same element that drys the dishes? The wiring harness seems a little discolored. Could that be causing the fuse to overheat? A lot of questions, I know. Any help would be appreciated.
1 Answer Hello Jose6394. You will need to replace the fuse W10258275 and wiring harness as well that is sent with the fuse. The element that dries the dishes heats the water. If the harness is not replaced, it will continue to blow. Hope this helps. Read More...
John Ryan December 15, 2011 for Model Number MDB7809AWMO After verifying thermal fuse was no good, ordered 2 and replaced. Before changing, checked wires and determined they were not damaged, so replaced fuse only. This lasted 3-4 weeks(perhaps 5 or 6 runnings) and know fuse is blown again. Any ideas?
1 Answer John, You did follow the instruction sheet, and made sure all your connections were good and tight ? Also check and make sure you have a polarized and grounded power supply to the junction box on the dishwasher and the connections/ wire nuts are good and tight. " Opened Bi-Metal attached to control. 1. Unplug dishwasher or disconnect power. 2. Measure resistance. If open, replace. If replaced more than once, replace harness as well. ** NOTE: Replace any component with evidence of overheating. ** " Should you need it, heres the part number for the wire harness WPW10413099 .
