Travis September 23, 2014 for Model Number MDBH949AWW1 Hi, Dishwasher will only rinse cycle, will not light up or work when you push the other 3 cycle modes (heavy, normal, light) thxs.
1 Answer Travis, This issue would most likely be caused by a faulty keypad which would require the control panel to be replaced. The part number for the control panel is W10810347. Read More...
Carl August 27, 2014 for Model Number MDB7709AWW2 When I select the light, medium, or heavy wash setting that light come on and the drying cycle light comes on. But when I push the start button it fails to start and after about a minute the lights turn. There must be power to the control unit or these lights won't turn on. Can you help
1 Answer Carl, You will want to check the door switches to make sure that they have continuity when pushed in. If the door is not recognizing being latched the unit will not start and the lights will shut off after a short time. Read More...
1 Answer Hello Kevin. There was a wiring issue and the manufacturer suggest the harness provided with the fuse. Read More...
Bob August 07, 2014 for Model Number KUDK03FTSS3 The lights on the control panel light when pressed, when the start button is pressed it blinks and continues to blink when the door is closed but the dishwasher does not run. I checked the door latch and the switch seems to be working (continuity on and off), I also replaced the main board with no change in the flashing start light. Any suggestions? Thanks you, Bob
1 Answer Hello Bob. You will need to order and replace the console WPW10084135 on the unit. Read More...
Steve July 24, 2014 for Model Number DU1055XTVB2 I have a Whirlpool Dishwasher that had the thermal open without any obvious reason. I replaced the fuse and the unit operated without a problem for several cycles, then opened again. So what else should I be looking at, and how do I troubleshoot to determine the specific cause?
1 Answer Hello Steve. You must replace the wiring harness with the thermal fuse on the unit. If not, it will continue to open. If you replace the wiring harness with it, and it opens, you will need to replace the control board. Read More...
Bob July 08, 2014 for Model Number kude60fvss3 Sanitize light is blinking. Where do I start my trouble shooting or what are the most likely causes?
1 Answer Hello Bob. Control Could Not Confirm Sanitization Achieved. Causes can be: Incoming water too cold. Line voltage too low to heat fast enough. Diverter problem prevented water from heating in final rinse. A heating problem could cause the temperature not to reach but will typically cause a water heating fault. Thermistor/OWI problem. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. James D. May 31, 2014 for Model Number MDBH979AWS2 When I push the start button nothing happens. The lights do not come on. When I push individual lights two of them will come on for about a minute. Is this the thermal relay or is it the control panel? If not one of those, do you have other suggestions. Thanks
1 Answer Hello James, You should verify voltage to the control. If voltage is there but not being sent back out of it, the control board W11202746 will need to be replaced. If no voltage is present, you should check for a failed thermal fuse W10258275 mounted by the control board. If voltage isn't even getting to the bimetal you should check the wire nuts in the power connection box behind the kickpanel. Read More...
Peggy April 21, 2014 for Model Number mdbtt53aww1 Dishwasher; no lights/power. Could the thermal switch be the problem?
1 Answer Hello Peggy. You need to check the thermal fuse W10258275. It could be the issue. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Idaho Electrcian April 14, 2014 for Model Number Maytag MDB7749AWB1 I looked at the schematics for my dw. I need the high limit thermostat, item 6 on the parts list, which looks right. But it looks different when I bring up the part under description, It should be part number AP4423189 but this does not look like mine.
1 Answer Hello! The high limit thermostat is in the tub and frame diagram, item number 25, part number WP661566. If you are needing the thermal fuse which is located in the control panel, item number 6, you'll use part number W10258275. Thanks! Read More...
Warren March 21, 2014 for Model Number gu2400xtps7 I think the thermal fuse is shot but when I check it for voltage I show 110v from one side to the other. It's like one side of it ( the wiring) is grounded out. This is the second time in one year that this fuse has gone bad. I have also replaced the control panel. Any ideas?
1 Answer Warren, Check for voltage at the thermal fuse by checking for 120 VAC from each terminal to chassis ground. This will verify if you have voltage in and out of the fuse. Then check and make sure the wiring connections in the junction box on the front frame, behind the lower kick plate and access panel. Make sure the connections are tight and there is no discoloration or melted areas on the wiring. From there check the wiring at the heater element and thermostat. Make sure you have a constant and proper 120 VAC, polarized power supply. Any loose connections and low voltage issues can cause the thermal fuse to open prematurely. Read More...
