Al December 08, 2014 for Model Number ggw9868kqo The dryer runs and heats fine for 5 or 10 minutes, shuts off, and gives a E1 code. Is it the thermistor?
1 Answer Hello Al, As per the tech sheet on your model, “E1” flashes if the thermistor is open. Be aware that the circuit in the control can be at fault since it interprets the information sent to it by the thermistor. So, if changing the thermistor does not correct the issue and the wiring is found in good condition, the control 8566150 is suspect. Read More...
Asmir December 03, 2014 for Model Number HE2850T981 Control panel lights up and allows me to select cycles and load size, etc. but when I push start it does not run and F01 flashes.
1 Answer Asmir, The model number listed is not showing up as a valid model number. If this is on a dryer then the most likely cause for the F1 error code will be the control board for the unit. Read More...
Irma November 18, 2014 for Model Number GGW9868KQ1 How will I know if my drum is "binging up?" Per your answer to my first previously asked question. If it is the motor, is it worth replacing or better to buy a new dryer?
1 Answer Hello Irma. You turn the drum by hand and see if it is binding up. As for the value of the dryer, if it is worth repair or not, we can not answer that. Sorry. Read More...
Irma November 18, 2014 for Model Number ggw9868kkq1 I've replaced the thermal fuse which fixed my first problem of my dryer not turning on but now my dryer will start then the timing of the drum spinning slows down and then shuts off. Or sometimes the drum makes a clicking noise and then turns off. It is heating. Once it went through all of the above but then everything normalized and it kept spinning and drying!
1 Answer Hello Irma. Make sure the drum is not binging up. If it is not, then you will need to replace the motor in the unit. Read More...
Nick November 15, 2014 for Model Number WED8300SW1 I have replaced the thermal fuse 3 times now in my dryer and every time it keeps tripping. The first two within a month and the third one after two months. We started running it on low heat the third time around. On normal heat the clothes would get pretty hot so I'm trying to determine what might be the issue. Thermostat, control board, etc.? Any guidance would be appreciated!
1 Answer Nick, When the thermal fuse is blowing continuously, the issue will come down to air flow. You will want to check the blower wheel to make sure that there is nothing like fabric sheets caught in the wheel. If this checks ok then you will want to check the venting to the outside of the home which would be the most likely cause for the thermal fuse to keep blowing. Read More...

Eric October 11, 2014 for Model Number GEW9878PW0 My dryer would only start if held the button for a long period of time an sometimes would not start at all. Then it would start on it own not sure if this would be starter switch or timer. It is kind of bothersome not knowing if the dryer would start when I was not home.
1 Answer Eric, Based on this information the issue sounds more likely to be neither the start switch or the timer. This issue sounds more likely to be that there is a contact in the motor switch that may be welded and causing the issue. Read More...
Lori September 25, 2014 for Model Number GEW9250PW1 My dryer recently stopped heating, although the drum still worked. After reading your posts I purchased a Thermistor from you guys (fast shipping) and just installed it per your video (great tutorial). After 1 minute of running, the E2 Error code appears. Everything I read states that code means you need a new Thermistor? I have checked the connections a number of times on the newly installed part and everything looks great. Any thoughts??
1 Answer Lori, You will want to test the thermistor at the control board connection to make sure that there is proper resistance. The reason to do a the control board would be so that you are testing the wires as well. At 70 degrees the thermistor should read 11.5K to 13.5K ohms. At 80 it would be between 8.5K and 10.5K ohms. Also test the exhaust thermistor as it could be faulty as well. It is possible that the wiring harness could be bad also. If all checks ok then the issue will be in the control board. Read More...
Nancy September 21, 2014 for Model Number 11060932990 I tested the old thermistor and it showed infinity on the resistance. I purchased a replacement thermistor WPL 8577274. The new thermistor also shows infinity. I heated it with a hair dryer to see if the resistance lowered, but it doesn't. It appears that the new thermistor is bad too? This is for a Kenmore Model 11060932990.
1 Answer Hello Nancy. It sounds like the meter is not set right. You will need to check the setting on the meter. Thanks. Read More...
Ray August 29, 2014 for Model Number wed8300sw1 I have replaced the thermal fuse on the dryer 3 times and it works about a month then blows again. I have cleaned all the vent system and it still blow the thermal fuse.
1 Answer Hello Ray. If the vent is good, then it sounds like the relay board is not cycling properly and you will need to replace the board WPW10111606 in the unit. Read More...
