Jules September 01, 2015 for Model Number MFI2569VEQ1 Hi, I have a Maytag MFI2569VEQ1 French Door Fridge. The freezer is cold but the fridge is warm. Is this the damper or themistor or both. Are there any good videos or instructions on how to replace them.
1 Answer Hello Jules. You will need to test the sensor and see if it is good. If so, then check the damper WPW10127427 in the unit. We are working daily at adding new videos to the website, but we do not have any on this model at this time. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Jules August 31, 2015 for Model Number MFI2569VEQ1 The freezer stays very cold, but the refrigerator gets in the 50's even though I have it set to the coldest. The current temperature no longer displays on the control board. Is this due to the damper or thermistor? Are there any videos or good instructions on how to test and replace them? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Jules, The most common cause of the temperature issue is the evaporator fan motor W10850438 but if the unit is not showing a display, the issue is more likely the control board WPW10310240. Read More...

Kevin H. March 04, 2015 for Model Number GB2FHDXWS04 Hi, I have a Whirlpool refrigerator model number GB2FHDXWS04. I am having trouble finding the part numbers for the thermistor and the thermostat that are both in the freezer compartment. I can find the parts lists but as far as the thermistor and thermostat I can't locate them. I found a thermistor kit part number 12002355 but don't know if it is a suitable part for my fridge. I also found a kit part number for the thermostat. It's part number is W10165425. Are these kits suitable for my model? Thanks for your help.
1 Answer Kevin, based on the model number given the thermistor is part number W10316760 and thermostat is part number WPW10165425. Thanks! Read More...
William M February 02, 2015 for Model Number GI5FVAXVL00 My Whirlpool refrigerator runs too cold in the fresh food compartment. It was suggested that I replace the thermostat which I did but it still runs too cold. Even if I set Freezer temp to max (6deg) and refrigerator to max (46 deg) food still freezes. The last search I did suggested the thermistor (12002355). Where is it located on my model and will this fix the problem? Thanks
1 Answer William, You will want to check the damper to make sure that it is operating. You can test this by turning the controls down to where it goes to off. If the damper door does not close at this point then replace the damper. If the damper checks ok then remove the light cover and using a flat blade screwdriver, there are 2 slots at the back of the controls. Put the screw driver in and push the clip that holds the control in place. Once done then you can lower the controls and the sensor is located in the control box. Read More...
Jeff J January 18, 2015 for Model Number GI5SVAXVQ01 My refrigerator is at 32/33 despite setting it at 46. To test the thermistor I have to remove the light assembly. It doesn't have screws, and it is not clear how it comes off. I don't want to break it. Does anyone have a video or more detailed instructions. Also, if I can test it at the board, are there detailed instructions on how to get to the board and test it? I am very handy, I just need details. Thanks.
1 Answer Jeff, When you pull your refrigerator out from the wall and get behind it. There is a cover on the back that is held in by 4 1/4" screws. You remove the screws and cover then you would remove the plastic cover over the control board. Once this is done you would use a multimeter and on the J3 connector check from pin 1 to pin 5 which would be a white with blue stripe wire on pin 1 to white with Orange stripe to Pin 5. You will check the resistance of the thermistor to make sure that it is good. The resistance value should be as the following. At 77 degrees 10K ohms, at 36 degrees 29.5K ohms and at 0 degrees would be 86K ohms. These values are plus or minus 1%. Read More...

1 Answer William, To test the thermistor you will want to check for resistance. The resistance values are as follows, 10K ohms at 77 degrees, 29.5K ohms at 36 degrees and 86.3K ohms at 0 degrees. The refrigerator thermistor is accessed by removing the damper cover by removing the 1/4" hex head screws holding it in place. The thermistor will be located under the cover. Read More...
