Parts diagrams point to the location of the dual inlet valve, which is a different valve located inside the refrigerated compartment near the filter. Is this smart valve in the back where the water hose connects to the lower back of the fridge? I've tested the dual inlet valve, front controls, door sensor, and main control board, and suspect this smart valve is the reason my water dispenser and ice maker stopped working simultaneously.

Gregory P May 22, 2017 for Model Number GI7FVCXWY03 Every few months ice maker leaks in refrigerator compartment,seems like every once in a while it overflows.I have to take it out defrost whole unit then put it back in.Also cant get any new water filters put in that wont leak dont know if they both may have to do with same issue or not.

I do not notice any water or moisture in the icemaker cube tray where the icemaker fingers are.I have a good flow of water to my water dispenser and that works fine. 1 Answer Hello Glenn. Make sure the freezer is between 0° and 5°. You need to check and see if there is power going to the water valve when the icemaker cycles. If so, replace the water valve on the unit. If not, or the icemaker does not cycle, you will need to replace the icemaker on the unit. Also, check and make sure the fill tube on the unit is not frozen and clogged. If so, replace the water valve and thaw out the fill tube. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. The water dispenses fine, although at one point the water flowed really slow so we replaced the filter and now it is fine. Prior to that time, our ice maker stopped working. There is no water coming into the modeled part. Would the inlet valve need replacing even though we get water coming from the dispenser side? Is there a separate inlet valve for the ice maker and water dispenser?
1 Answer Debbie, The first thing you will want to do is remove the icemaker and check to make sure that the fill tube is not frozen. If it is frozen then clear the ice and replace the water valve. If it is not frozen then you will need to cycle the icemaker and test to see if there is 120 vac getting to the icemaker solenoid on the valve. But then as the ice maker is re-filling with water we have water pouring out of the ice maker and down the left side of the refrigerator. It does shut off after a few seconds, but not until a lot of water has run down the inside left wall of the fridge. Do you think it is the valve?

Tom October 13, 2013 for Model Number maytag My well just went out a week ago, we had to have it replaced. In the days following that we start getting lots of sand and debris in sinks, valves toilets etc. Now the ice maker quit working and we had lots of ice build up in the freezer area. Repairman said needs a new water valve, filter and housing to the tune of $420. Haven't done it yet, does that sound right? Thanks
