Bill May 18, 2017 for Model Number gs6n3exr I installed a new water valve but I still have no water going to the ice maker. I have water in the door dispenser.

Doug H March 03, 2017 for Model Number GS6NBEXRL00 This started with my ice maker not making ice, but I believe that the valve that fills the ice try would not stop filling and the ice maker just froze. The only way I can get the ice tray to stop filling would be to turn off the water supply. Otherwise, the ice tray overflows and the water freezes all inside the freezer. Any ideas on what is causing this? I was told by a tech that I described the problem to that it is the water inlet valve (part WPW10159839).
1 Answer Doug, This issue will most likely be caused by a faulty water valve which would be WPW10159839. Read More...
Ronald August 05, 2016 replaced water inlet valve. ice maker working ok. water dispencer on door not working
1 Answer Ronald, Recheck and make sure the wiring to the new fill valve is correct, then check the dispenser paddle switch circuit, it should have a "closed" circuit when pressed and an "open" circuit when released. Read More...
Mike December 15, 2015 for Model Number GS6NBEXR001 For the N-86-SV can I replace just the valve/solenoids, it has developed a leak, and the circuit board is fine?
Icemaker September 12, 2015 for Model Number 106.56704500 My ice maker isn't filling up with water but dispenser on door works fine. I changed out the complete ice maker and still no ice. Can one coil or valve on water inlet go bad? How do you check for continuity on the coils for this one whirlpool part#AP4327602. I don't mind replacing parts but the first answer did't work. So before I spend another $106 please help me trouble shoot this one again.
1 Answer Hello. Yes, one coil can go bad. You will test for power to the solenoid and if it is there, and the water does not flow, you will need to replace the water valve on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. William V May 07, 2015 for Model Number Kenmore Elite model # 10656703500 Can I replace part #AP4362516 for part #AP4327602 ? I have a water leakage from the tubing that connects to the Invensys N-86-sv. This tubing is to close to the ground and the pressure over the years seems to have broken the plastic tubing. Now that I want to purchase a new Invensys N-86-sv, I am comparing that the water fitting on the part #AP4327602 seems a lot better than the part #AP4362516 since it does not go downward but sideways, not forcing water tubing. But before purchasing it, wanted to make sure I can use part #AP4327602 on the Kenmore Elite model #10656703500.
1 Answer William, Unfortunately you would not be able to use the part WPW10217917 in place of the WPW10159839. While they are both dual style valves the WPW10217917 only has 2 ports to it and the WPW10159839 has 3 tube ports. There may also be a wiring type difference that will not allow it to work. Also the WPW10217917 is designed for a icemachine not a refrigerator. Read More...
Devaughn February 22, 2015 How do you pull the water tubes out of the W10159839 valve, no matter how hard I pull they won't come out?
1 Answer DeVaugn, you have to press in on the collar that surrounds the tube, to unlock it, then pull on the tube. When you install the tubes, press in on the collar, insert the tube as far as possible, release the collar and give a slight tug on the tube to make sure the tube locks in place and doesn't leak. Tom August 25, 2014 for Model Number GS6NBEXRQ01 My ice maker seem to be fine but the water dispenses slow for a while and now it stopped. So what is the problem? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Tom. Check the valve and see if there is power coming to the valve. If there is power there, and the unit does not dispenser water, you will need to order and replace the water valve on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Joe P June 12, 2014 for Model Number GS6NBEXRQ00 Through the Door water works. Ice Maker makes no ice. Ice Maker "Pilot Light" is off when door is closed and blinks twice, pauses and repeats when door is open. Could this be a valve problem? What else?

Paul February 26, 2014 for Model Number gs6nbexrb01 My ice maker seems to be fine, however the water dispenser on the door is not. Water dispenses very slow while the unit display acts like it is a fast flow. Recently it has gone from a slow trickle to individual drops. Could not be a water inlet valve? Is there a separate valve for ice and one for the door dispenser?
1 Answer Hello Paul. It sounds like the water valve is bad and will need to be replaced. Make sure the filter is good on the unit as well. Read More...
