Teresa August 21, 2014 We have a Kitchenaid under counter ice maker that we have just replaced the circulation pump. Ice maker is working now. We also cleaned the screen of the water inlet valve which was covered in gunk. Ice maker is working but after a few cycles, the water in the reservoir gets low and the pump struggles because the water level is low. The water refill fills to overflow the first time but each time after that, the refill does not seem to get to the overflow part. After many cycles, the water level gets lower and lower and then in turn the pump struggles with low water level. We have checked everything. The unit is working great other than this. Is this the water inlet valve (even though we cleaned the screen)? Thanks so much for your help.
1 Answer Hello Teresa. Yes, it sounds like the valve will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...

Don May 27, 2014 I have an old sub zero ice machine (made by whirlpool) and it has stopped making ice. At first the ice production slowed down and now it has stopped. I cut the electricity off and took a look. After I turned the electricity back on it made one sheet of ice, but the water just keeps running over the plate and won't stop and no ice. Is it my water valve? I have found the exact valve in your parts. thanks Don
1 Answer Don, It's not likely a fill valve issue at this point. If the valve was stuck open, the reservoir would over fill and you'd have water in the ice bin. and flowing out the door. It sounds more like a evaporator thermistor, or possibly a control board, it's attempting to make ice, but the evaporator isn't cooling and forming the ice slab. The thermistors and control board would be the place to start testing. Read More...
Tomet January 31, 2014 for Model Number Kuia18NNJS7 My ice maker seems to work properly but I periodically find water on the floor in front of the unit. I remove the lower front panel and saw water dripping from the water valve. I tighteed the four screws and the water stopped dripping. After a week the leaking resumed. Do you feel the complete valve should be replaced?
1 Answer Hello Tomet. Yes, you will need to order and replace the water valve on the unit. Read More...

Debie L June 22, 2013 for Model Number ED5FHGXNQ00 My ice maker does not work... if I put ice in the bin it will dipense but is getting no water to the ice maker...also I can get water from the door. Any thoughts on what this could be?
1 Answer Debie, You need to check and see if there is power going to the water valve when the icemaker cycles. If so, replace the water valve on the unit. If not, or the icemaker does not cycle, you will need to replace the icemaker on the unit. Also, check and make sure the fill tube on the unit is not frozen and clogged. If so, replace the water valve and thaw out the fill tube. Read More...

Lou April 25, 2013 for Model Number LG LTC24380ST Can anyone tell me if the water valve for the ice maker operates from 120VAC?
Fjq April 24, 2013 for Model Number KUIS15NRHS6 Ice maker makes churning noise and the ice is foggy. Technician says that i need to replace the valve because foggy ice means that there is not enough water in the resevoir. Since this has been happening for about 2 weeks he says pump will probably also need to be replaced.
1 Answer FJQ, The icemaker not getting enough water would cause foggy ice. The pump may or may not need to be replaced. With it running and not having water go through it could possibly damage the bearings and it would not be bad to replace it. Read More...
