Becky May 28, 2012 I had the same question as the person above but I've tried pulling and they just don't want to come off. The white plastic pieces just won't budge, and I'm afraid I'm going to break it.
1 Answer Hello Becky. You may need to use needle nose pliers to remove the wires from the water valve [AP3178611. Pull on the plastic connectors and not the wires. They pull off. Read More...
Gordon April 09, 2012 for Model Number KUDS01XX The dishwasher makes a "machine gun" noise as it is filling. I read a couple of web sites that said the fill selenoid likely needs to be replaced. Anyone agree? Thoughts on what to check before I order this $41 dollar part?
1 Answer Hello Gordon, Everytime I encountered this complaint it turned out to be air in the plumbing. I would consult with a plumber before replacing any parts so as not to waste your time and money. Then, if you don't get it solved through that route, I would check to make sure the valve is getting a constant 120Vac. It could be a relay on a control board. Good luck! Read More...
Ronnie December 28, 2011 for Model Number 66513762k601 This valve leaks in the copper tube part closest to the metal plate . It looks like if I take the screws out of the metal plate I could just replace the copper pipe that the elbow and hose connect to is this possible? Or maybe the whole plate that connects to the plastic part.
1 Answer Hello Ronnie. No, if the water valve is leaking, you will need to replace the water valve WP8531669. It can not be repaired. Thank you and Good Luck! Read More...
Greg December 24, 2011 for Model Number kudpo1ilwhi What is the resistance value of the windings for the fill valve solenoid
1 Answer Hello Greg. The resistance for the windings for this part is 695 to 995 ohms, but can be irrelevant to testing the part under a load condition. Any electrical part in general can test OK, but not be mechanically functional. Make sure the inlet screen is not clogged. You will want to check for voltage (120 VAC) at the valve terminals on a fill cycle. If you get the full voltage while in a fill cycle, then it is bad. The water valve is part # WP8531669. If you get 0 vac under a fill load, then the device is good. You can test the wires and control panel at the water valve, if you unhook at least one wire and isolate it for safety, then if you get the 120 vac from the control board relay, then the wires are good. Make sure the float is moving freely up and down. Thanks! Read More...
Anonymous December 11, 2011 for Model Number GU1500XTLT2 The dishwasher will not fill with water. Do I need to replace the fill valve? Are there other possible causes for this?

Jimmy Z November 13, 2011 for Model Number GU1200xtls1 My dishes have been coming out clear with food and detergent particles on them. I replaced the heater element without any change. I guess it probably woun't be the heater element if the dishes appear to be clean minus the particles. Do you have an idea what I should replace next.
1 Answer Jimmy, First, you want to check and make sure there's enough water, and it's hot enough. Start a cycle, allow the machine to fill and wash for 5 minutes. unlatch and open the door, check the water level in the bottom of the tub, it should be high enough to contact the bottom of the heater element, low water level affects the spray arm operation. the water temperature in the bottom of the tub should be at least 120 Dgrs.F. low water temp. does not breakdown the detergent chemicals properly and has an effect on the washability. If all's OK, we'd suggest you consider: a plain powderred detergent and reduce the amount of rinse additive if you have an adjustable dispenser. Thanks and Good Luck Read More...

John H. October 29, 2011 for Model Number KUDS01DJSS0 When the dishwasher is off, water very slowly leaks into the bottom. Could that be a faulty fill valve? A gasket?

Sherry October 26, 2011 for Model Number GU1200XTLQ1 Thank you for answering my question, but how does one check the inlet part number AP3178610? Thank you
1 Answer Hello Sherry. You will need to check and see if the water level inside the dishwasher is filling up to the bottom of the heater. If it is low, then the inlet valve WP8531669 is bad and will need to be replaced. Once the dishwasher fills, open the door and see how much water is in the bottom of the unit. Hope this helps. 1 Answer Hello Spcaspary. Check and see if there is power going to the water valve and make sure the float is not stuck inside the dishwasher. If there is power there and the unit does not fill, you will need to replace the water valve WP8531669. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter.
