Linda August 09, 2013 for Model Number MBH 7600 Maytag 7600 dishwasher. The wash arm seems to have plenty of water and no blocking by debris. However, it wobbles and therefore gets stuck (by water feed tube on bottom) and stops turning. The screw is part of the arm assembly......should I buy a new arm?
1 Answer Linda, The first check needs to be at the water manifold WP99002642 make sure the manifold is still attached to the tub brackets and the outlet at the top of the pump W10296525. Then remove the lower spray arm, and check the bottom side center for excess wear and damage to the openings. The last check is to the motor, remove the lower access panel, and make sure there is at least 1/4 inch clearance between the bottom of the motor and the floor, if the dishwasher is setting on the motor, this can also throw everything out of alignment. Pat June 13, 2013 for Model Number Matag Lower washer arm will not turn during wash cycle. Stays stationary. Should I repair or buy new?
1 Answer Pat, We would need to have to model number to help to determine what my be going on with the unit. It may be a bad impeller or just something that is lodged in the pump assembly causing to not work properly. Read More...
Jesse January 03, 2013 for Model Number JennAir JDB4000AWS Part #WPL 6-917642 How does the cap holding the lower wash arm come off? Is it a twist off, or should I just pull straight up?
1 Answer Hello Gloria, The spray arms don't "wear" in that sense. The thing you are looking for is any holes clogged with debris and separations between the two halves of the spray arms where they are "melted" or crimped together at the factory. When the spray arms separate, the water pressure escapes from the separation and causes a "wave" to develop in the water in the bottom of the tub and this causes the water to jump the air gap. This in turn puts water in the floor. Read More...
Bill May 10, 2012 for Model Number mdbtt70aww i am getting noise during operation so i checked it out while not running, it appears that the lower washer arm is rubbing against the lower portion of the manifold. is there a gasket or friction washer that goes on the lower washer arm to act as a bearing and raise the washer arm so that it does not hit the manifold??
1 Answer Bill, No there are no bushings or seals between the lower wash arm and top of the pressure dome in the center of the pump. You mat want to check and make sure the bottom of the spray arm is not worn out, and that the shaft it mounts to is straight and has not been dislodged, by something sticking out the bottom of the lower rack. You may need to remove the lower access panel and check that the motor is not sitting on the floor, there should be at least 1/4 inch clearance between the bottom of the motor and the floor. H1832 February 06, 2012 for Model Number MDBH965AWB Washer arm part #AP4364610 hits the brackets that hold the heater in place when the arm is rotating. I posted a previous question under the part # for the cap. I took the cap off but could see nothing amiss. The arm looks undamaged, nothing is bent, cap goes on tight, but still the arm wobbles enough so as to hit the brackets. The washer make quite a noise when running due to constant "clicking" of metal plates on arm hit heater brakets. Brackets are tight & appear to be in right place. From my observation, the only thing wrong is the up & down play in the arm's rotation. But nothing seems damaged, bent or worn in any way. This Maytag washer was "recalled" to have the heater element replaced, and all this started sometime after this was done by the Maytag repairmen. I wonder now if the right heater parts were installed! Does the arm supposed to have an inch or more play (up & down) at the tip ends of it? Any help appreciated.
1 Answer Hello H1832. Make sure the brackets for the heater are not bent from the install. If the are bent upward, you will need to push them down and see if the noise stops. The kit should work on the unit that was installed. Hope this helps. Read More...
