Lindsay September 08, 2015 for Model Number 11024892300 Water over fills. Removed hose from water level switch and attached small hose with water coming in I blew into the hose and the water stopped and it started agitating. Removed hose check for leaks and cleaned. IS it possible that the housing where the hose is connected to the tub needs to be cleaned and how would one do this.
1 Answer Lindsay, It is possible that the housing is clogged up and would need to be cleaned. To do this you can remove the hose from the pressure switch and blow through it in order to make sure that it is not clogged otherwise you will need to remove the inner tub to gain access to it to clean. Tom June 11, 2015 for Model Number Kenmore 500 ( 7 years old) The other day my washer would only fill 4 inches of water and then go through the rest of the cycle. The day after it filled correctly and still is. What do you think caused the original problem?
1 Answer Hello Tom, While it is impossible for us to know what wiring configuration you have without your model number, this was most likely cause by a poor electrical connection to an onboard component. Read More...
Mike February 19, 2015 for Model Number 110.24642300 My washer overfilled yesterday. I pushed in the main knob and it stopped filling. I am assuming it is the water level selector switch. I' not sure about the part number; the old one was 3366847 which came up as AP4567828. Am I on the right track?
1 Answer Hello Mike. Yes, either the pressure switch or hose W10335056 is bad on the unit. Read More...
Catherine February 03, 2015 for Model Number WTW5500SQ0 I switched load size and the control knob broke off. When I put the knob back on, it doesn't switch to the load size (small, medium, large). What part do I need to fix this? Thank you

Kris December 07, 2014 for Model Number Kenmore Series 90 I ordered WHIRLPOOL Water Level Switch Kit Part #: AP4567828 (W10337780) due to an overflowing washer. I replaced it and the water still does not shut off. Even when I move the dial along, the machine does not start agitating. Also, the water level switch now has a mechanical clicking between size loads when the old switch moved smoothly, without any clicking. The water does not continue to fill when the machine is unplugged. Did I replace the wrong part? My model # is 110.26912691.
1 Answer Kris, part number W10337780 is not listed as being compatible with your model. Your model uses water level switch part number W10339326. Thanks. Read More...
Stacey October 28, 2014 for Model Number LXR6232EQ0 My very old Whirlpool wash machine immediately starts to agitate when turned on. It doesn't fill with any water. I tried different water level settings, different cycles, and different water temps, but as soon as I turn on the machine it just agitates. I ran it through a whole cycle and there was no water even when it was spinning. This has happened intermittently the last few weeks but when I let the machine agitate after a minute or two of starting a the machine it would stop and then fill with water and continue with it's normal cycle. Does the water level switch need replaced or do you think it may be something else? Thanks for your help. Stacey
1 Answer Stacey, You will want to check the pressure hose that goes from the water level switch to the tub and make sure that it is not clogged up and that the air dome that it connects to on the tub is not clogged. If this checks ok then the water level switch would most likely be faulty and need to be replaced. The part number for the pressure switch is W10337780. Read More...
Joe September 20, 2014 for Model Number WTW5600SQ0 FIRST, Sometimes my 5 year old whirlpool washer seem to stick in the rinse mode and the water would run constantly not filling up but it wouldn't switch to the spin cycle. NOW when I turn it on it starts with the agitate cycle and it never adds water no matter where I move it on the dial.
1 Answer Joe, This issue would most likely be caused by a faulty pressure switch for the unit. The pressure switch is W10337780. Read More...
Jess September 16, 2014 for Model Number Estate washer When starting a load the water fills and does not shut off and the washer does switch to the wash cycle. water just keeps coming until I stop the wash cycle. How can I tell if it is the water level switch or the timer that needs to be replaced.
1 Answer Jess, if the water stops filling the tub when you remove power to the unit you'll need to check the pressure switch hose and replace the pressure switch. If it continues to fill once you remove power to the unit you'll need to replace the inlet valve. We'll need your model number to determine the correct parts for your appliance. Thanks. Read More...
Travis July 22, 2014 I have a Kenmore 300 washer that gets occasionally gets stuck in various points in its cycle. Either at the wash or rinse stage the washer will get stuck and pour water endlessly and never fill up the tub. There is no issue with the water overflowing since the water simply goes in and goes straight out again.
1 Answer Hello Travis, This is called siphoning. You need to make sure the standpipe is higher than the main top of the unit and is not sealed with tape or anything. This will cause the water going down the drain to pull the water the unit is filling with down the drain also, (siphoning). If the top of the standpipe has been sealed because the machine is draining faster than the water can go down the drain and is overflowing from the top of the standpipe, you will need a plumber to solve the issue since sealing the top of the standpipe creates the new problem. In other words, the standpipe should be able to drain the water as fast as the machine can pump it out. If it cannot, there is a restriction in the drain. Read More...
Thomasr March 01, 2014 for Model Number Kenmore 110.20932992 Washer overflows too frequently. I saw your video. I am guessing I should replace the water level switch and hose. My wife says the switch doesn't always center/snap to one place or another. I replaced the motor coupling last summer an observed the hose was pretty gross looking. I also learned what happens when it becomes disconnected :-(. It's probably loose now after these years of heavy use. Question: Is whirlpool kit w10337780 a replacement? Does it include a four position switch replacing sears # 3366847? I assume the hose is a standard diameter. Thanks in advance.
1 Answer Hello ThomasR. If you can stop the water from entering the machine by turning off the timer or unplugging the unit, you will need to look for a bad pressure hose or replace the pressure switch. If the only way to shut off the water is at the shut off for the water hoses, you will need to replace the water valve in the unit. Read More...
