Heather November 20, 2013 for Model Number lxr7244jq1 My Washing machine will not fill with water but when I turn the knob to spin it will spin. Could this be the Water Level Switch Kit? We took the part off and checked the device and it was not showing no continuity.
1 Answer Hello Heather, This can be the water level switch W10337780 causing the issue. You are on the right track ordering it if it is getting but not passing the voltage to the water valve. Read More...
Gary T November 16, 2013 for Model Number Lxr7144eq1 My washer will not fill when I start a cycle. The agitator begins running immediately, but without water. I tried replacing the timer, but still does the same thing. Should I try the water level switch next?
1 Answer Hello Gary. Make sure the air dome is not clogged by blowing through pressure hose. If clear, replace the pressure switch on the unit. Read More...

2 Answers Velu, The most likely cause of the unit filling and agitating at the same time would be caused by a timer WP3955340 issue. Read More...

2 Answers Hello Velu. It sounds like the board WP3955728 may be bad on the unit or the timer is causing the issue. Read More...

Scott October 29, 2013 2 things. First, where can I look on my washer to find the model number so I can make sure I get the right parts for the machine? Second, my washer continues to fill with water and will not stop no matter what wash level I set it to. I have taken the water level switch off and tested its continuity, however, I'm not familiar with when it should have continuity and when it should not. The part number I have found that fits my machine is 3366847. Do I need to replace this part or could there be something else causing the problem? It will not cycle out of the filling cycle on it's own. I can get the water to stop filling by shutting the machine off or manually turning the cycle knob to where it should be washing, but all it does is humm, it won't wash. It also will not drain when I put it in the drain cycle. I'd like to be sure that I replace just the part I need to replace. Thanks.
1 Answer Hello Scott. If you can stop the water from entering the machine by turning off the timer or unplugging the unit, you will need to look for a bad pressure hose or replace the pressure switch. If the only way to shut off the water is at the shut off for the water hoses, you will need to replace the water valve in the unit. Marilou January 21, 2013 for Model Number MTW5800TW0 The washer continued to fill to overflowing. I have run the washer and unplugged it. The water stopped, so it doesn't appear to be the water inlet valve. The washer stopped filling when unplugged so I replaced the water level switch. I also replaced the pressure tube that came with the water level switch. The water still continues to fill to overflow. I blew air through the air dome. The air dome looks pretty dirty though. What should I do now? Do I need to remove the air dome and clean it out? If so, how do I do that?
1 Answer Marilou, You can't remove and clean the air dome. You'll need to take the hose and blow in the end that attached to the water level switch. This ususlly clears any clogs in the tube and air dome. You may want to add a cup to a cup and a half of white distilled vinegar to the tub, and partially fill (1/2 to 3/4 full)the washer with hot water and let it set for 30 to 60 minutes, drain the washer, then blow in the tube. Since you have a new water level switch, check and make sure there is a "tight" fit of the hose on the air dome at the tub and at the water level switch connector and no twists, kinks, or pin holes in the hose. Jason January 17, 2013 for Model Number Maytag MTW5800TW0 My washer appears to be overflowing and doesn't know when to stop filling with water. It sounds like its the pressure switch that needs to be replaced. What testing do I need to do on the pressure switch to know if it's bad? Please explain in detail how I would go about blowing through the tube. Thanks!

Mike December 05, 2012 for Model Number LXR7144EQ1 While disassembling my washer to replace shaft seals the part number 3362089 Shield dropped out and I am unable to determine how to fit the thing back into place. I know it goes between the motor and tub and fits over the water line. The diagram is not helpful.
1 Answer Hello Mike. The shield just slides into place. The hole in the shield is for the tub to pump hose to go through. You can't get it backwards if you use the hole in it. Read More...
