Hello Heather, This can be the water level switch W10337780 causing the issue. You are on the right track ordering it if it is getting but not passing the voltage to the water valve.

Hello Gary. Make sure the air dome is not clogged by blowing through pressure hose. If clear, replace the pressure switch on the unit.

2 things. First, where can I look on my washer to find the model number so I can make sure I get the right parts for the machine? Second, my washer continues to fill with water and will not stop no matter what wash level I set it to. I have taken the water level switch off and tested its continuity, however, I'm not familiar with when it should have continuity and when it should not. The part number I have found that fits my machine is 3366847. Do I need to replace this part or could there be something else causing the problem? It will not cycle out of the filling cycle on it's own. I can get the water to stop filling by shutting the machine off or manually turning the cycle knob to where it should be washing, but all it does is humm, it won't wash. It also will not drain when I put it in the drain cycle. I'd like to be sure that I replace just the part I need to replace. Thanks.

Hello Scott. If you can stop the water from entering the machine by turning off the timer or unplugging the unit, you will need to look for a bad pressure hose or replace the pressure switch. If the only way to shut off the water is at the shut off for the water hoses, you will need to replace the water valve in the unit. Here is a link to help with the model number. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/modelnumber_locator.aspx

Marilou for Model Number MTW5800TW0

The washer continued to fill to overflowing. I have run the washer and unplugged it. The water stopped, so it doesn't appear to be the water inlet valve. The washer stopped filling when unplugged so I replaced the water level switch. I also replaced the pressure tube that came with the water level switch. The water still continues to fill to overflow. I blew air through the air dome. The air dome looks pretty dirty though. What should I do now? Do I need to remove the air dome and clean it out? If so, how do I do that?

1 Answer

Marilou, You can't remove and clean the air dome. You'll need to take the hose and blow in the end that attached to the water level switch. This ususlly clears any clogs in the tube and air dome. You may want to add a cup to a cup and a half of white distilled vinegar to the tub, and partially fill (1/2 to 3/4 full)the washer with hot water and let it set for 30 to 60 minutes, drain the washer, then blow in the tube. Since you have a new water level switch, check and make sure there is a "tight" fit of the hose on the air dome at the tub and at the water level switch connector and no twists, kinks, or pin holes in the hose.

Hello Mike. The shield just slides into place. The hole in the shield is for the tub to pump hose to go through. You can't get it backwards if you use the hole in it.

Hello Law, The switch and the knob will require replacement. I would be happy to post part numbers for you with a valid model number. You see, the model number is how all appliance parts for all brands are looked up to prevent ordering the wrong part repeatedly.
