Broken dryer belt Bob B. • St Louis , MO • September 12, 2015
Unpluged dryer first. Then took the lint filter out and removed the two philips screws inside the lint filter lid. Then take a paint scraper just under the top of the dryer two inches from the left front corner and pushed in a little to release the snap connector and did the same on the right side. Then lifted top over. Then take a 5/16 socket or nut driver and remove the two screws on on the left inside panel, then the right side. Lean front out a little and remove the two wires one the back...

Thumping/vibrating/rattling pretty bad fixed 100%! Doug P. • Durham , NC • November 15, 2015
I am very glad to find the AppliancePartsPros.com website! Their instructional videos and easy parts reference made all the difference. I had originally planned to have someone come to fix my dryer, but no one was available for at least a week. I checked out their site, and after watching the videos I felt confident I could repair my appliance. I determined that a drum roller wheel had gone bad. Apparently it was going bad over the last five years since the dryer always seemed to rattle a...

High pitched squeal: maybe a roller wheel maybe a bad felt bearing on drum maybe a rubbing fan wheel or just a burned out motor! Bruce K. • Pikeville , KY • September 06, 2014
My 12 year old Kenmore dryer problem started about 3 years ago with the motor just stopping.
My thing was:
I would turn it off and turn the drum by hand about halfway around and it would work again.
Last month, my wife said it stopped again and its making a loud noise,
but when I did "my thing" it still made a loud squealing noise (like I was killing a mouse).
I made time to work on it the next day, I took it apart, using the video instructions from AppliancePartsPros, I removed the top,...

Dryer door latch worn out Kathy M. • San Diego , CA • February 22, 2015
When I looked up the part number there was a handy video that popped up. I watched the video and thought "how easy!" so, I ordered that part and waited. The next day, I thought I better start to take the door off of my dryer (because that's what the video instructed, and I wanted a head start) so as I was going into the garage to get my tools, my son came in with a small package. It was the part. That came, to quote another customer, "Crazy Fast!" All the way from Kentucky to California! ...

Electric dryer ceased to produce heat Glenn M. • South Windsor , CT • September 23, 2016
Our 25-year-old Whirlpool dryer abruptly stopped producing heat, though it was otherwise running normally. The unit had never required service of any type and we were reluctant to replace it. After confirming that no circuit breakers had tripped, I reviewed the Whirlpool and AppliancePartsPro websites and concluded that the most likely causes of the problem were a failed heating element and/or thermal fuse. I ordered both (they arrived in two business days), installed them and the dryer...

My whirlpool duet dryer started to squeal and rumble when the dryer was on Diana K. • Phoenix , AZ • September 20, 2014
I did a little research and found out that the dryer drum rollers needed to be replaced. I decided that since I would be replacing the 4 drum rollers that I should replace the belt and the belt drive pulley. This was a simple project thanks to YouTube. I used one of appliancepartspor videos to st me through the repair. Now I have a dryer that does not squeal like a pig!

Gas dryer did not heat and excessive lint inside the unit James C. • New Boston , MI • July 20, 2017
Our 19 year old Whirlpool dryer quit heating. After checking the thermal fuse, I found the ignitor electrically open. I bought an ignitor at a local store as there was a national holiday the next day and I did not want the dryer inoperative waiting several days for shipping. I can say AppliancePartsPros is MUCH cheaper for the identical Whirlpool genuine part. While changing the ignitor, I noticed there was an excessive amount of lint in the dryer, which was caused by worn drum seals. I ordered...

Old Whirlpool dryer model LE8650XWW0 would not heat purchase in 1993. Byron V. • Huntsville , AL • December 08, 2017
Since the dryer was 24 years old I opted to replace all the possible problem components, instead of just the bad one. The parts aren't that expensive and do to their age I figured it was worth it to avoid having to go back into the dryer in a few months. The repair was surprisingly easy and went pretty much as the video instruction AppliancePartPros provided with one exception. Because, my model was much older than that used in the video, I had a more difficult time replacing the Heating...

Dryer not heating properly Hashem N. • Los Angelos , CA • October 26, 2014
This Maytag dryer was bought in 1985 if memory serves. It has worked hard with few repairs done by yours truly over the years.
Thanks to the engineering and excellent design by Maytag staff, removing parts are relatively easy.
Once I opened the unit, I found it to be full of lint. I cleaned the entire inside and the vent pipe duct work.
I found the blower wheel assembly worn. Though it was not cause of my problem, I decided to change it along with the igniter, heater relay and the fan belt. I...
