This was much easier than expected. I called Appliance Parts Pros with my model # and you told me what part I needed. It was shipped the same day and arrived the next day. I removed the inner door trim with a table knife ( don't rush this or you might crack the trim ). I then unhooked the old door latch disconnected the spring from the door hooked on the spring from the new latch and clipped in the latch to the door. Final step was to reattach the door trim. After dismounting the unit from its wall-hanging bracket, the most tedious part of the repair was removing over a dozen screws holding the cover in place from the top, bottom, and both sides. Checked the three door switches; used ohm meter to see if there was resistance or if a switch was bad. 2 out of 3 switches showed resistance with the ohm meter. The last one tested (of course the last one) NO (normally open) did not show resistance; I.e. the ohm meter reading did not change when the switch was depressed. I did some searching on the internet to see if others had the same issue I was having. There were many who had the same problem and everyone of them fixed it by changing out the latch switches, which in my case, were part of the latch body assembly. I attempted to diagnose the four thermostats/thermal switches in the microwave....two right behind the control panel, one on top of the cooking cabin, and one under a metal shroud above the magnetron. While checking continuity with a voltmeter, i questioned one of them behind the control panel and the one above the magnetron. Then pull the panel back a bit to release the lips from the front of the machine and had immediate access to the internal assembly that housed mounting nut. Unplugged the microwave & took needle nose pliers to gently twist the metal part out of the socket after removing the glass cover for the light. Gently twisted the new bulb into the socket. Read more
