Washer won't fill or won't stop filling? This water inlet valve controls water flow into the tub. DIY-friendly repair, typically takes 10-15 minutes.
Conducted research on web, and via direct contact with AppliancePros where a diagnosis of replacing the water inlet valve and cleaning the sensor tube would "most probably" (80%) handle the issue. The remaining uncertainty would reside in the electronic board circuitry. The price of replacing the water inlet valve was half of a local repair call just to diagnose the issue so I decided to have faith in the odds presented to me. The part arrived on time, and using AppliancePros advice and... Read more

Fix E6 error codes and grinding noises with a new washer clutch motor. Simple DIY repair—just 2 screws on the bottom. Takes 30 minutes or less.
When I looked up LG washer E6 code on the web I saw the tip from LG: unplug the washer and call for service. To me that's a challenge. I saw the AppliancePartsPros.com story on Google, read it and decided to try the solution that worked for other people. A clutch shifter motor that was around $20. Removed the lid, 3 screws on each side under pop-off panels. Removed 2 screws on the top front of the machine under pop-off dots. The hardest part was keeping the top raised while dealing with the two screws that actually held the hinge. If this 60 yr old lady can do it, so can you!! Read more

If your LG Front load washers sounds like a freight train, STOP USING IT. You're doing more damage and will need more parts to fix it. After the noise became unbearable, I began to explore and disassemble. I knew enough to know the bearings must be bad but had never done this repair before.
