Replaces worn or leaking shock absorbers that cause excessive vibration and wobbling during spin cycles. Restores stability and smooth operation.
My washing machine was making a loud thumping sound and bouncing around a bit. Research suggested that it could be bearings and/or the spider shaft assembly. After watching the instruction videos to replace the spider or bearings, I seen you need to replace both the shaft seal and tub gasket to get to the spider and bearings. So I ordered both and waited for them to arrive. Plan was to disassemble the washer, determine what was needed, order the additional parts needed, and reassemble after the... Read more

I followed Matt's awesome video from AppliancePartsPros.com to build up my "I can do this" reserves. But here's the story leading up to that point... We purchased our Samsung WF419 on a “Black Friday” special November 2009 expecting to get some good years out of the washer/dryer pair. We don’t run more than 2 or 3 loads a week in the washer, so ours has had relatively little use over the beginning of its anticipated and expected long life-cycle. When the “thumping” started on the spin cycle a... Read more

Normally, I hire someone to come fix washer or dryer problems as time is limited and if the cost is close or more than the machine, I buy a new one instead. But since we are on shelter-in-place, I figure I could repair it since I have more time on my hands and my brother assured me, it was not hard to do. I took the top panel, door off and then looked online to find a service manual, which allowed me to take the front panel off. My suspected drain hose was the failure mode: the rubber tube... The washing machine would allow you to program it, and all the lights on the control panel would light up, but pressing start did nothing. I tried putting the washer in diagnostic mode, but was unable to do so. The machine was not showing any fault code. I originally thought it was a problem with the 'Start' button and I thought that I'd buy a replacement part from the original seller of the washer. I was told by the 'live help chat person' that the problem was likely in the washer user... Read more

Noticed large banging in the washing machine when transitioning from low to high speed spin. Also would get a slight smell of burnt rubber. I had been very satisfied with an earlier order from AppliancePartsPros.com, so I ordered this part on Sunday after 9PM, standard delivery, hoping to get the part by the end of the week. I was flabbergasted to receive the part TUESDAY MORNING! Wow! I followed the instructions in the youtube video exactly. It took around 15 minutes, because I was being very careful not to drop screws in... Read more

Washer is 8 years old. The spider arm was significantly corroded and shedding chunks which blocked the drain pump. If you find what looks like slate rocks in the drain pump, you've likely got this problem. Disassembly was not difficult. There are many screws. Keep track of where they go. You have to remove the drum which means rear, top and front panels come off, including the bracket across the front that holds the control panel. None of this was difficult; only time consuming to keep track... Read more

Luckily happen to be walking by when machine started to make "grinding" noise as washer tub started to hit plastic tub. Assuming by shutting down machine, prevented any more damage. Aside from noise, when we opened door, tub appeared "crooked" tilted back a lot further then normal. When we removed the rubber door seal, could spin drum and hear and see the wobble and grinding. Internet told us the possibilities and so we proceeded to break down the machine. A drill with Philips bit and... Read more

First indication something was wrong when the washing drum starting to violently bang against the inside of the washer while in spin cycle. Then, when I opened the washer door, a misty smoke came from the inside. With the video from Appliance Parts Pros, disassembly of the washer was no problem. First, I replaced the four shocks on the washer drum. But, after a test run, determined that it was spider arm assembly. Again, the series of instructions made getting to the part fairly easy. The...
