Oven won't heat properly or overheats? A faulty temperature sensor may be the cause. Simple 15-minute DIY repair with basic tools and our video guide.
I have a Whirlpool RBS245PDQ12 wall mount oven. Gathering information from AppliancePartsPros.com resulted in two possibilities: The Thermal Switch or the Control Panel. Talking with Appliance Parts Pros led to testing the Oven Temperature Sensor. It's supposed to test at 1080 Ohms at 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Mine tested at 960 Ohms so I knew it was bad... I found the service manual on the top of the Oven on the left behind the control panel. It has values for testing (Ohms of resistance)... Read more

Ordered the replacement glass through AppliancePartsPros.com and it arrived the next day. Wow! I figured while I was in there the oven glass looked stained and maybe I would want new glass. With that said when the glass arrived and my husband and I got the oven door off and apart, we realized I... Read more

Found a real cool Youtube video by AppliancePartsPro.com. I watched it and learned how easy it was to unhook and replace the part with proper care and precautions. It even included tips on critical steps so the wires won't slip back inside the hole and save you from hours of possible mistake. Then I ordered the part. It came the day after, then I replaced the part, meaning, I DID THE WORK! (My wife was so impressed- lol) Easy as pie... but we made and had a much nicer roast the day after.... Read more
Oven won't heat after self-clean cycle? A blown thermal fuse cuts power when temps spike. Easy DIY fix—disconnect power, test with multimeter, replace.
This is for the Whirlpool in-wall double oven GBD307PDS10. No power and the door locked after the shutdown before the self-cleaning cycle was over. I watched some video and this is a known issue the fuses blow during self-cleaning. I opened the door with a 90-degree hook, an easy task. Took doors off (watch video from others), unscrewed from the wall, and made a very small platform. and took the oven out (need two people and take the doors off first. The doors are heavy and you won't lift the... Read more

For the third time in four years, the hinges failed on my KitchenAid wall oven. The appliance is out of warranty and KitchenAid does not consider this to be worthy of any recall.
