First I watched some DIY videos for familiarization and safety. I bought a 28 Ohms resistor and rigged some wires and aligator clips and discharged the accumulated energy from the capacitor. Took out the magnetron and even when it showed good continuity I discarded it due to sings of been overheated. With none of the cooking options working, and the display acting normal; I suspected door interlock issue. After making sure the breaker was okay I just opened up the microwave (had to purchase a safety bit for the drill). I found a connector that was burned up. First, please learn how to judge what "Uhhh, Uhhh" means from your wife. Then look over to at what she is apparently looking at to see fire inside one of the microwaves. Walk over, open the door, pick up the on fire newspaper and dump it in the sink. She had placed the folded newspaper up against the emitter.
