The Drain Pump is an OEM part for GE washing machines. It's engineered to remove the used water from the washer at the end of each cycle, ensuring the machine is properly emptied and ready for the next load. This component is responsible for the circulation and expulsion of water, playing a vital role in the washing machine's ability to clean clothes thoroughly.
Causes of a bad Drain Pump can include obstructions within the pump itself, such as small garments or debris that can block water flow, or mechanical failures like a burnt-out motor or damaged impeller blades.
Symptoms of a bad Drain Pump include:
- Water remaining in the drum after the wash cycle has completed.
- The washing machine failing to start due to sensing water from a previous cycle.
- Unusual noises coming from the pump area
This OEM GE part can also be used on Hotpoint, RCA, and Kenmore/Sears appliances.
