The previous tenant in my daughter's new apartment apparently had a grease fire of sorts in the GE XL44 gas oven. I found exploded parts view of oven and looked for oven sensor probe and control card parts. I also looked at great videos and read past repair stories. I decided the problem had to be one of the two parts (probe or card) and ordered both. I decided that the probe should be changed first rather than involve a circuit card. Replace cracked, broken, or missing clock and timer control knobs on your range. This kit includes three small black knobs for the timer control panel.
Replaced above parts, easy to do, looks like a new stove. Needed to pry open knob stem slot segments very slightly to remove broken plastic from previous knobs. Spreading stem slot metal sides too much and they will break. With slots cleaned out, pinch stem sides almost together for new knobs to slide on. Took top apart to find out that the problem was just the lens for the light was broken. Come to find out that the lens is what holds the light in place.
