Window Pack Asm
Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WB55T10086

The Window Pack Assembly is an OEM part for GE ranges. This part allows you to monitor your food while it cooks without opening the door and letting heat escape. The assembly ensures clear visibility and helps maintain the oven's internal temperature for consistent cooking results.

Causes of a bad window pack can include accidental impacts, thermal stress from repeated heating and cooling cycles, or manufacturing defects.

Symptoms of a bad window pack assembly include:

  • Cracks or breaks in the glass

Very easy fix. Turned of power at breaker. Removed oven door by lowering two "keepers" on the hinges for the oven door and sliding the door out of the oven. Removed the trim plate at bottom of oven by pushing it up.. Removed 2 screws that mount to the frame of the cabinet at the bottom that the trim plate hangs from. Then removed 4 screws that hold the oven into the cabinet at either side of the oven. Put two 5 gallon buckets in front of the oven and slid the oven out onto the side-by-side... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Oven door wouldn't close tightly new hinges didn't fix the problem   Paul S. • East Wenatchee , WA • October 26, 2020

All of the information on the web repair sites said "replace the hinges as the springs are worn out." Didn't fix the problem. The top of the door still wouldn't seal, and the. Leaning latch wouldn't catch the door unless you pressed on the door. The inside panel of the door was fatigued. Too many turkeys were set on the door over the years. The hinges are attached to that inside panel, so the stress points were bent over time. I replaced the inside steel panel. Took about an hour. Was able... Read more

High-Voltage Diode (Microwave)
Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WB27X1160

This high-voltage rectifier diode is used in the microwave's high-voltage circuit. It converts AC to DC so the magnetron can produce heat. A failed diode can cause no heat, loud humming, or a blown fuse when starting. What it does:

  • Rectifies high-voltage AC to DC to power the magnetron
  • Blocks reverse voltage in the HV circuit
  • Common failure symptoms can include: runs but doesn't heat; loud hum then shutdown; line fuse blows at startup
What's included:
  • 1 high-voltage diode
Install notes:
  • Unplug the microwave and properly discharge the high-voltage capacitor before servicing—dangerous voltage can remain even when unplugged
  • Match diode orientation/polarity to the original and ensure a solid chassis ground connection where used
  • Route leads and reinstall any clamps/insulators exactly as found; keep wiring clear of sharp edges and hot components
  • If the original diode failed, inspect the HV capacitor and transformer for related issues before reassembly

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Faulty self cleaning latch   Gregory K. • Bel Air , MD • December 28, 2016

Replaced faulty latch with new latch. New latch was different configuration, but the fit was okay. The only issue was that the wires to the electric motor were just barely long enough. Overall easy repair if you have a T15 Torx bit, phillips screwdriver, and 1/4" nut driver. Hardest part is removing the gas cooktop to gain access to the cleaning latch. 0.
