This part is the gasket that is used on refrigerator doors. This part surrounds the perimeter of the refrigerator door and acts as a seal to both keep the cold air in the fridge but also keep the warm air out. It is white in color.Due to normal wear and tear, the gasket may become brittle and wear out over time so that it is no longer effectively sealing the door shut. It can also become torn or cut, which would also require a replacement. A quick visual inspection can determine if it needs to be replaced. If there are folds or creases in the replacement gasket, let it soak in warm water to help straighten it back out. This gasket is compatible with refrigerator units that are manufactured by KitchenAid, Thermador, Jenn-Air, Whirlpool, and Dacor. It is sold as an individual part. This gasket comes directly from the manufacturer.

This is a Whirlpool freezer gasket. If the freezer is having difficulties staying at temperature and the old gasket is damaged or off track, replacing the gasket could fix the problems. A faulty gasket could also lead to higher levels of ice and frost build up in the freezer. This could potentially raise an energy bill because it causes the freezer to stay engaged longer. Higher levels of frost build up could ultimately damage other components. Pull the old gasket out before installing the new one. It doesn't matter if the old part gets snagged or torn when it's taken out since a replacement is ready. Be sure not to break any of the fastening clips around the edge of the freezer. Slowly insert the gasket around the outer edges of the freezer lid, inserting the lip of the gasket into the cut out areas. Make sure the gasket is held tightly in place before shutting the freezer lid. This part is sourced directly from the manufacturer as a genuine OEM replacement part. This gasket is only available individually and is not included with any other parts or the original appliance. This product is compatible with Whirlpool brand freezers.

The freezer cold but refrigerator too warm. Gerard F. • Honolulu , HI • September 02, 2022
First I did the obvious: Changed the evaporator fan motor and condenser fan motor. Then I realized there was too little air flow from the freezer to the refrigerator, so I replaced the air baffle assembly. Now everything works again.
This should have been a piece of cake, but in the 48" Kitchenaid side-by-side built-in, the baffle assembly is mounted on the side wall of the refrigerator rather than the back wall as the video showed. That means the hole for the rear of the two screws holding...

Replaced door latch and switch. Parts are plastic so you must know what you are doing to avoid breaking new parts. Videos were hard to find for my model - eventually I found a video that addressed a different problem but required disassembly of a washer cabinet similar to mine. I removed the control panel using a putty knife and unplugged the wire to the latch switch. Then I remove 3 screws securing the washer's top panel to the back panel. Using a rubber mallet, I gently knocked the top panel...
