The GE Advantium Oven completely shut down. No lights, no sign of life at all. Denny E. • Waynesboro , VA • March 14, 2014
I read on line about other such ovens doing the same thing mine was doing, absolutely nothing!
I even read stories of a major retailer telling customers to throw the microwave away. There's nothing you can do to fix it. After replacing a simple fuse that I ordered from you, the Advantium is as good as new. It took a grand total of 5 minutes to make the repair. The shipping cost more than the part, but it was all very worthwhile.

Microwave would not heat but had power Wilbur C. • Washington , DC • December 16, 2017
14 year old GE Profile microwave wouldn't heat, but had power. Read reviews here. Ordered triumvirate of magnetron, capacitor, & diode. Was hoping not to need the capacitor as this was an expensive part; and if not needed to return to AppliancePartsPros, which has been SOP.
After watching a couple YouTube videos of microwave capacitors being shorted, I made a capacitor discharge tool ordering 24W 100K Ohm resistor and high voltage test wires w/ alligator clips from amazon. At the same time,...

I recently changed our above the range microwave to vent outside but when there are strong winds against the outlet cool air came in this is an extra block against air intrusion James D. • Downingtown , PA • October 31, 2015
This damper was added to the outside vent duct line as an additional block against outside air intrusion. Under spousal orders I had just changed the microwave vent to the outside (the proper way to go, but much more difficult to accomplish) but then there was some "flowback" when the wind was pressing against the back of the house (westward facing), and I was ordered to reduce this flow before the winter arrived in full force. There is this same damper on the microwave unit itself, but I...

The Microwave Door Latch is an OEM replacement part for GE microwaves. It securely fastens the microwave door when a cooking cycle is activated. A well-functioning latch is important for safety purposes, preventing accidental door openings and potential radiation exposure during operation.
Causes of damage usually involve wear from normal usage over time as the latch mechanism is utilized frequently. Failure can impair safety.
Symptoms of a defective door latch include:
- The door not fully closing or staying fully closed
- Warm spots or hot spots appearing unexpectedly on the door
- Fault codes or error messages related to door closure
- Inability to run cooking cycles safely if the door can open
This OEM GE part can also be used on Hotpoint, RCA, and Kenmore/Sears appliances.

The diode was bad and that's why the fuse kept popping. Don E. • Peroia , AZ • January 16, 2021
The wonderful parts pros on the phone said that it was probably the diode or the magnetron. So we tried the cheapest way first and it worked so happy to have my microwave back and working for only a few dollars rather buying a new appliance.

Microwave arcing Peggy S. • Jefferson City , MO • December 21, 2014
After researching on the internet, I decided replacing the wave guide cover would be much cheaper than replacing the microwave. Plus I couldn't even find one that worked with the existing trim kit. Had a bit of difficulty removing the old cover, but the folks at Appliance Parts Pro answered my email question within 24 hours. I received the replacement part a day or so later. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! Thanks!
