Oven won't heat or light? This igniter powers both bake and broil burners. Most DIYers replace it in 10-25 minutes with basic hand tools.
The oven would not heat up but the broiler and stove top burners all worked so I replaced the igniter. The part arrived quicker than I expected - one day with regular shipping - and the repair also went much quicker than expected. The problem was partly caused because the original legs were at full extension. The replacement legs were longer than the originals and were more secure at the needed length. One difficulty was that the threaded base plate where the legs screwed in had been damaged and had to be reshaped, I was able to reshape the sockets with some effort, to allow the legs to thread in, though one remained slightly angled. Bought and installed new hinges. Repair took about an hour but I also cleaned all the glass inside and out on both oven doors. I had ordered extra screws as I read the old ones that hold the hinges were hard to get in as they were self taping but the screw labeled 5 next to the hinge were not the right ones.
