Drip ring that mounts around the planetary assembly at the base of the mixer head. Covers the gap below the gearcase to restore a clean, finished look.
This was a problem that I'd had previously with this mixer. The worm gear, which is designed to fail (so that more serious damage does not occur to the motor), did fail while I was mixing some multi-grain bread dough. After the previous failure (pre-youtube days), I took the machine in for repair. The repair-shop cost came to about $150 in labor. Parts were extra. This time, I decided to do the repair myself, since I figured that I knew what was wrong. I found the appliancepartspros... Read more
Fix a stripped or worn center shaft causing poor mixing or grease leaks. This vertical shaft supports the planetary gears in your stand mixer. DIY repair.
Replaced the center gear and since they sent the hub along I replaced that too just to be safe. Used the live chat before ordering to make sure I was ordering the correct part. The person I chatted with was very nice and very helpful and parts came in good shape, and just as ordered. Replaced the stripped gear the next day and added a bunch of grease and the mixer works like new. Was very impressed with their diagrams and helpful videos as well as their large selection of parts. The other... Read more

White planetary gear assembly for stand mixers. Installs in the mixer head to drive beaters and attachments. Replace if cracked, damaged, or worn.
Removed the old planetary and cleaned metal shavings from gears. Transferred the old axle/gear assembly onto the new planetary. Inserted the new (and expensive) screw for the main gear and torqued it very tight (as well as the original other four screws). Slid the new planetary gears together and re-inserted the holding pin. Tapped on the cover ring and was done. Read more
Mixer won't run or just hums? Worn motor brushes in the holder cause power loss. This DIY repair restores full motor function on stand mixers.
Checked out You tube video. Easy tune up. One gasket was damaged and I did not notice that the brush holders has no brushes. I believe a quick call to Appliance parts pros will fix this, besides I need a few more parts. I expect to get another 20+ years from this KitchenAide mixer, once repairs are competed. Watch out for the single lock washer located on the rear upper housing screw, you don't want to lose this! Read more
Fastening screw for securing components inside appliances. Replaces lost, stripped, or damaged screws during repairs or part installations.
Bought and installed new hinges. Repair took about an hour but I also cleaned all the glass inside and out on both oven doors. I had ordered extra screws as I read the old ones that hold the hinges were hard to get in as they were self taping but the screw labeled 5 next to the hinge were not the right ones. All old screws worked fine. You just need to put a little power to them to get them started. Easy repair. Read more
