Seals the dishwasher air vent to prevent water leaks during operation. Replace if you notice dripping under the vent or wet insulation behind the panel.
First tried replacing the seal around the door as that was the simple and most logical fix. Still leaked. Removed the front and upper panel to inspect. Found calcium deposit running down from under the Air Vent Assembly and wet behind the black stick-on insulation. Easy to trace the leak to the bottom of the door. => Ordered new Air Vent Assembly, gasket and Vent Deflector. Parts arrived. Took 5 minutes to remove upper panel. Removed the two wires from the Air Vent Assembly. Inserted a... Read more
Replacement dishwasher panel that covers and protects internal components. Install to replace a dented, cracked, worn, or missing panel piece.
Ordered front panel and panel control. Also ordered name plate (did not need) front panel already has it. My husband and I had it switched out in approx 10 minutes. Took longer to gather proper tools than it did to do the repair. Looks awesome and original! Read more
Replaces cracked, broken, or missing lower spray arm in your dishwasher. Installs at the bottom of the tub to distribute water during wash cycles.
Screwed the new spray arm on. This dishwasher has been through 2 control panels, a spray arm, rack roller assembly, rollers, and far too much of my time, patience, and money. I'll never purchase another KitchenAid product. Read more
Replacement upper dishrack for dishwashers. Holds dishes, glasses, and utensils during wash cycles. Replace if rusted, cracked, or broken tines damage items.
Kitchen Aid dishwasher is 11 years old, and the tines have been rusting and biting the dust one by over the last few years. Rather than further destroy my dishes by abrading them with rust particles, I decided to get new racks. They are terribly expensive, and I pondered getting a new dishwasher. It wouldn't be that much more expensive. But I love mine and how well it washes. It has a stainless interior, and all of the seals are in excellent shape. I didn't need any tools. (Although I'm a... Replace your dishwasher's insulation blanket when it becomes stained, torn, or damaged by water leaks. Wraps around the tub to reduce noise and heat loss.
Dishwasher washer would not drain after hearing glass-like particles during the drain cycle despite trying to clean the cylinder filter. Originally suspected the drain motor was damaged. After watching a video on how to replace the drain pump, I carefully energized the dishwasher (from water and electricity) then removed the dishwasher to take a look. After removal of drain hose from the pump, discovered that drain hose was connected to water inlet assembly which also needed removal to... Read more
Fix a dishwasher door that pops open during the wash cycle or won't stay closed. This latch secures the door and maintains proper sealing. DIY repair.
Tried bending the strike to get a firmer grip, but no luck. Replaced the door latch and strike. Washer is about ten years old. You can feel the new catch has a more positive engagement. When you replace the strike, be sure not to tilt it downward in front. It will go in the way but it will keep the door from closing. Not sure I needed to replace the strike but didn't want to risk more downtime. Read more
Rotating spray component that snaps into the upper rack area. Replace if the spinner fell off, the retainer pin broke, or the connection is worn and won't stay in place.
We ordered the part and watched the video which was very helpful. The repair job was simple but not easy for two 80 year olds b/c of the awqwardness of where the screws had to go. Read more
Dishwasher leaking from underneath? The float switch kit controls water level and stops overfilling. Typical repair time 10-30 minutes.
Removed bottom cover, located leak at float switch, removed and replaced float switch kit. The toughest part of the repair was removing the Float & Retainer Assembly (in the interior of the machine tank) which broke when I pushed it back and pulled it straight up as suggested in the service manual. The Float Switch Kit (attached to, and below the float, below and outside the tank) has a folding plastic cover which fastens with plastic clips. If you open the switch kit before removing the... Followed instruction I saw on a you-tube video. Was quick and easy. Read more
Replacement lower spray arm support bracket for dishwashers. Mounts underneath the wash arm enclosure to securely anchor the rotating spray arm. Needed when cracked or stripped.
We initially noticed the dishwasher running loud and failing to completely clean dishes. Research suggested issues like this were normally caused by either the main circulation motor or the drain motor. Over the next week the noise worsened, and it became obvious that the circulation motor had went (loud whirring noise whenever the spin cycle kicked in). I watched a couple youtube videos on the removal and dissassembly until I felt confident that my wife and I could handle the project. For the... Read more
Dishwasher won't start or door won't stay closed? The door latch bracket secures the latch mechanism for proper door closure. 30-45 min DIY repair.
Our 7 y/o dishwasher wouldn't close and therefore we couldn't get it to run. I called several service places who charged $75-$90 diagnostic plus parts & labor, and they were not able to get here for at least a week. I knew it was going to run at least $200. Kitchenaid wanted > $400 for a 1 YEAR WARRANTY, but it would cover this service call and any more throughout the next year. Seemed a little steep given the unit is already 7 y/o. I watched a couple videos on this site and YouTube and... Read more
Seals the water inlet connection to prevent leaks where water enters the dishwasher tub. Replace if you notice moisture damage or leaking at the valve inlet.
Replaces a cracked, bent, or squeaking dishwasher door hinge. Secures the door to the tub body for smooth opening and closing. Includes video guide.
We scoured the web and there are few references to this so I want to add it in case it helps. Replacing hinges solved the popping opening issue. We could not solve our dishwasher door issue after a number of other tries: Latch, Catch, Ropes that attach to the springs that pull the door closed. I tend to believe the solve could be different b/c all these things work together. But for us, we were skeptical that the hinge swap would work and we were very pleasantly surprised. Read more
Door won't latch or stay closed? This dishwasher door latch actuator secures your door during wash cycles. DIY repair in 15-30 minutes with video guide.
Screw secures appliance panels and access covers. Replace missing, stripped, or corroded screws to restore tight fit and eliminate rattles or gaps.
After several attempts at Local Hardware stores and Lowe's and Home Depot to find them I called AppiancePartsPros.com. I gave them the model number and what I was looking for and customer service directed me to the part on the Web site. They were extremely helpful and it was very fast and I got the parts the next day. Read more
