I learned an $84 lesson, I discovered an adjustment screw on the auto damper control that has never been talked about anywhere on Google. The new part only brought the temp down to 40F. So I adjusted the screw counter clockwise 2 revolutions and checked the temp again after about 6 hours. The temp had dropped 4 degrees, so I gave it another 2 revolutions and now it's down to 30. Ordered replacement kit from AppliancePartsPros. New part that was recommended did not look like the original (frig is a Maytag and new part comes in a Whirlpool bag). Chat support assured me it will work. Got it, and put it in per instruction, which was against my better judgement, as the top two wire colors were reversed on the instruction sheet, from what I had taken off.
