Slide bearing for refrigerator drawer rails. Enables smooth in-and-out drawer movement. Replace if cracked, worn, or causing drawers to stick or jam.
Although the web ordering process was clear, I needed some "personal contact" via customer service. It took very little time to assure me the the parts were the correct ones and the video was easy to follow. When the parts arrived in 2 business days, it took only 30 mins. to complete the replacement of the slides. The video was a great way to assure there was no wasted time or effort. Read more
Freezer icing up or fridge too warm? Your defrost heater melts frost on evaporator coils. DIYers report 10-30 minute installs with a screwdriver.
We saw that the ice cream in the freezer was soft and the main refrigerator section was not cold enough. Called for repair but soonest appointment was a full week away. So I spent the next few hours online learning how to diagnose and repair refrigerators. When I opened up the back of freezer compartment to access the evaporator coils, I found ice and frost totally blocking the cold air flow. Turns out the bottom one of the two heater bulbs (quartz heater bulbs) was bad, so both heater bulbs... Read more
Plastic cam riser that lifts and aligns the refrigerator door as it opens and closes. Replace if cracked, broken, or missing to restore smooth operation.
I determined that the cam riser had broken into two pieces. Finding the part was easy on the diagram on the website. It arrived less than 24 hours after it was ordered. Top hinge was removed and the door was placed on a set of horses. One bolt was removed from the bottom of the door, the pieces of the broken cam riser were removed and the new one installed. Door was replaced and top hinge rebolted. The door was off for about 5 minutes. I was very pleased with the service of Appliance Parts... Read more
Ice dispenser only making crushed ice instead of cubes? This solenoid valve kit fixes the cube/crushed ice selector. Easy DIY repair with video guide.
This was a two and half year issue as different things failed at different times. I would get one part, then another would fail. Ultimately, I got to a point where what failed, I hadn't been ordered the part yet. The seal on the freezer door took three bathing's before it plumped up and un-creased. The directions on the box it is shipped in said to heat the seal up in hot water then cool it down with tap water. I didn't need to do that. It took a lot of massaging of the seal, but... Read more
Illuminates your refrigerator interior. Replace when burned out or flickering. Appliance-rated for durability. Verify wattage and base type match.
I changed the motherboard - computer and also changed the motor in the freezer, because it was doing a howling sound every time it turned on. The repair technician asked for $500 for a repair and that is on top of the $230 I paid him two days before. I looked up the parts and decided to try myself and it paid off. Great instructional videos. Thanks Read more

Refrigerator not cooling or compressor overheating? The condenser fan motor circulates air through coils to dissipate heat. DIY repair in under 30 minutes.
I googled the issue and read several articles. Most started with cleaning the coils (which mine are on the bottom) (19yr old Kenmore 363.9557812). I had not really ever cleaned them well, vacuuming did little. I had to remove the cardboard cover off the back of the frig, and blew them clean (front to back). Once that was done, I started cleaning from the back and noticed the fan wasn't turning week (condensor fan). Blew it out too, have it a good soon with a pencil, it puffed out a bunch of... Read more
Freezer not cooling or making buzzing noise? The evaporator fan blade circulates cold air. Easy DIY fix in under 5 minutes—simply pull off and press on.
I used a set of ring pliers to remove the old retaining ring, then spread the plastic ribs around the fan motor shaft with a small flat bladed screwdriver to ease removal of the old fan blade. I reversed the process to replace the blade, gently tapping a socket from my socket wrench set placed over the motor shaft and ribs with a small rubber mallet. I stopped when the shaft protruded about 1/8" beyond the plastic ribs of the new fan blade, then installed the new retaining clamp ring with the... Read more

Ice not dispensing or slow ice flow? This ice bucket and auger assembly stores and moves ice to your dispenser. Simple DIY install in 10-30 minutes.
I ordered a new bucket and auger combination--I didn't want to have to completely disassemble the mechanism to replace the rusted auger helix dispenser, so for about twice the cost of the auger alone I got the complete assembly. The product arrived in pristine condition less than 48 hours after I purchased it online. About 10 minutes later (most of that spent taking out the old bucket and finding my philips head screwdriver), I had removed the four screws holding the cover plate on the old... Read more

Ice dispenser door won't open or solenoid buzzing? This door solenoid assembly controls the ice chute flapper. Moderate DIY repair with video guide.
I ordered a new solenoid and when it arrived, I installed it as follows: I cut the power to the refrigerator. I then pulled off the rubber boot (and it's plastic frame) that covers the water switch. Then I removed the bezel that covers the front of the ice maker controls by pulling it straight out. Then I removed the four screws found on the assembly under the bezel. After pulling the assembly forward a bit, I detached the multi-wire connector attached to it and put the assembly aside.... Read more
