This PTC start relay plugs onto the compressor to momentarily power the start winding and help the compressor spin up smoothly. Replacing a failed relay can stop repetitive clicking and help restore stable cooling performance. What it does:
After running some tests I determined that the problem was a bad defrost timer. The timer would occasionally fail to trigger the compressor to restart at the end of the defrost cycle. Since I had the unit taken apart, I replaced the termination t-stat and the compressor start relay at the same time. Parts came quick 1.5 days, job completed and the unit is up and running. Read more

Ordered Bake Element, Y04100019 (Whirlpool AP4283614) to replace a broken bake element on my 30-year old Jenn-Air Model S125 Downdraft Slide-in electric range. Received the element very quickly but it had been damaged in shipping. Called AppliancePartsPros to report this and they quickly shipped another element - very easy process. To install the element, I turned off the power to the range, put on rubber gloves (just in case) and removed the two sheet metal crews at the rear of the oven -... Read more
This defrost timer controls the automatic defrost cycle in select refrigerators and freezers, switching between cooling and defrost to clear frost on the evaporator. It helps maintain stable temperatures and prevents heavy ice buildup and long run times. What it does:
I took the bottom tray out of the freezer and found the coils iced up severely. I was reasonably sure the defrost timer was the problem and your tech said that was a good possibility. Ordered and replaced timer. (15 minutes) Problem fixed!!! Saved purchasing a new fridge at big bucks. We live over 40 miles from a service center so the cost of having a tech come out is astronomical. Thanks!!! Read more

We ordered the hooks for the shelf that had replaceable hooks. And we ordered the bottom shelf called "Pick off Shelf." The Pick off Shelf was just a replaceable shelf and was no problem. The shelf with the hooks wasn't as easy, but that's because we aren't very "savvy" when it comes to fixing things that come with no directions. The "friendly stories" that were at the bottom of each part that we ordered told the experiences of folks. That was very helpful. We persevered and fixed it. ... Read more
This replacement light bulb restores clear, reliable illumination so you can see contents and monitor appliance operation. Replace a burned-out, dim, or flickering bulb to bring visibility back to the area it lights. What it does:
I'm way too lazy to go to a store and look at a gigantic wall of light bulbs. So I poured a glass of wine, googled the make and model of my refrigerator followed by "lightbulb" and this bulb came up. If you're tracking the full length of this project you'll be interested to note that I held up the bulb for roughly 3 seconds to conclude it was the right one. *don't drink too much wine before this part. I counted the bulbs in my fridge/freezer (also do this before too much wine) and decided I... Read more
This PTC start relay mounts on the compressor and briefly powers its start winding to get it running, then drops out. Replacing a weak relay can restore reliable starts and resolve clicking/humming with no cooling.
I replaced the Relay-Ptc and that solved the problem. I could see that there was a problem with the relay because it was arcing inside and you could see a glow coming from the inside. when I removed it from the compressor I shook it and I could hear it rattling and news for sure it was the problem Read more
Ice stripper removes ice cubes from the ice maker mold so the dispenser or storage bin fills properly. Replacing a worn or broken stripper helps the ice maker eject cubes cleanly and reduces ice jams or stuck cubes. What it does:
Checked out the video on your site on how to disassemble the ice maker. Was really easy when you know the correct sequence. Only 3 screws and it's out of the freezer. Disassembled the ice maker on my kitchen counter and replaced the ice stripper. Reassembled and installed back in my freezer. It is as good as new Read more
This auger motor and yoke assembly powers the auger that moves ice from the freezer bin through the dispenser, restoring reliable ice delivery when the auger no longer turns or dispenses ice properly. What it does:
Replaced the motor, however not the easiest to do with the older refrigerators. First I had to remove the shelf that hold the ice bin. There is a small screw midway underneath the tray. Once removed the shelf is loose but still hard to remove. There is a side panel that is slotted andonce removed the shelf can then be removed, but not knowing that it is a very odd fitting unit. Then comes the unplugging which cannot be seen so it is all by feel. Once the shelf drops down the plug is now... Read more
Size: 5/16 to 1/4. Universal John Guess Push On
Every once in a while we'd get a small leak just under the left side (freezer door). I moved the fridge out and saw the water stain towards the front of the unit. Carefully removing the grate (see the video on how to do this so you don't snap the plastic brackets. They are part of the grate and there is one on the left and one on the right, centered from top to bottom.) Anyway the problem was visible. There is a water tube that runs into the door and presumedly up to the water dispenser. ... Read more
This support mounts in the dispenser area to secure the ice housing assembly. It helps keep the chute and door properly aligned so ice dispenses smoothly and the opening seals as designed.
