Refrigerator not cooling or freezer making loud noise? A failed evaporator fan motor stops cold air circulation. This DIY repair takes about 30 minutes.
Removed back panel in freezer compartment. Held on by four hex head screws. Disconnected wire assembly from panel and then replaced evaporator fan motor on kitchen table. Fix a refrigerator that won't cool or clicks repeatedly. This compressor start relay powers the start winding to help your compressor run. DIY repair.
After running some tests I determined that the problem was a bad defrost timer. The timer would occasionally fail to trigger the compressor to restart at the end of the defrost cycle. Since I had the unit taken apart, I replaced the termination t-stat and the compressor start relay at the same time. Parts came quick 1.5 days, job completed and the unit is up and running. Read more

Removed the handle with two screws on the inside front and pulled out the custom wood panel. Pulled the compactor out from under cabinet. Tipped it over on back of unit, supporting it with a little foot stool. Unscrewed two lower screws at bottom of unit holding black trim panel (that held wood panel in place) and lower black rubber flap. Fix freezer icing and warm fridge temps by replacing a faulty defrost timer. Typical DIY repair takes 15-30 minutes with basic tools and a multimeter.
I took the bottom tray out of the freezer and found the coils iced up severely. I was reasonably sure the defrost timer was the problem and your tech said that was a good possibility. Ordered and replaced timer. (15 minutes) Problem fixed!!! Saved purchasing a new fridge at big bucks. We ordered the hooks for the shelf that had replaceable hooks. And we ordered the bottom shelf called "Pick off Shelf." The Pick off Shelf was just a replaceable shelf and was no problem. The shelf with the hooks wasn't as easy, but that's because we aren't very "savvy" when it comes to fixing things that come with no directions. I replaced the Relay-Ptc and that solved the problem. Checked out the video on your site on how to disassemble the ice maker. Was really easy when you know the correct sequence. Only 3 screws and it's out of the freezer. Disassembled the ice maker on my kitchen counter and replaced the ice stripper. Reassembled and installed back in my freezer. It is as good as new Read more
Fixes ice dispenser not dispensing or auger not turning. This motor assembly drives the auger shaft that moves ice from bin to chute. Moderate difficulty.
Replaced the motor, however not the easiest to do with the older refrigerators. First I had to remove the shelf that hold the ice bin. There is a small screw midway underneath the tray. Once removed the shelf is loose but still hard to remove. There is a side panel that is slotted andonce removed the shelf can then be removed, but not knowing that it is a very odd fitting unit. Connects water tubes of different sizes at the base of your refrigerator door. Replace if leaking, cracked, or calcified to restore a watertight seal.
Every once in a while we'd get a small leak just under the left side (freezer door). I moved the fridge out and saw the water stain towards the front of the unit.
