The Door Closure Spring is an OEM replacement part for GE refrigerators. It provides balanced tension to assist the door hinges and latch mechanism in securely closing the refrigerator door. The spring helps the door shut fully while preventing it from slamming closed abruptly.
Symptoms of a bad door closure spring include:
Causes of failure include metal fatigue from prolonged use. Springs can also weaken from mineral buildup over many years of repeated openings and closings.
This OEM GE replacement spring is also compatible with models including GE, Monogram, and select Kenmore units.
I replaced the lever asm. and spring Read more
The Ice Maker Fill Tube Grommet is an OEM part for GE refrigerators. This grommet creates a seal between the ice maker fill tube and the refrigerator, preventing leaks and ensuring that water is properly directed into the ice maker during the filling process.
Causes of a bad grommet can include regular wear and tear, damage from exposure to freezing and thawing cycles, or degradation from exposure to water and moisture.
Symptoms of a bad ice maker fill tube grommet include:
This OEM GE part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.
Replaced original (18 yrs.) 1/4" plastic tubing, clamp and grommet (AppliancePartsPros/GE parts) from outlet of ice maker water control valve to ice maker inlet. Also replaced water supply line to inlet of water control valve with new, GE braided, PEX 1/4" supply line with pre-attached female compression fittings on both ends. Repair job with AppliancePartsPros parts from outlet of water control valve went perfectly well, was simple, and had no leaks when tested. Parts were easy to install,... Read more
This defrost heater and thermostat assembly melts frost from the evaporator and shuts off at the proper temperature during the defrost cycle, restoring airflow and helping the refrigerator maintain steady, reliable cooling performance.
I replaced defrost heater with thermostat. It is a very easy and there is YouTube tutorial video for that. Read more
The Condenser Fan Motor is an OEM part for GE refrigerators. This part drives the fan that circulates air across the condenser coils, which helps to dissipate heat and allow the refrigerant to cool more efficiently.
Causes of a bad condenser fan motor can include wear and tear from continuous use, buildup of dust and debris that can impede fan operation, or electrical faults leading to motor burnout.
Symptoms of a bad Condenser Fan Motor include:

This refrigerator lamp socket holds an E12-base appliance bulb and provides the electrical connection for the light fixture. Replace it when the light won't turn on or flickers despite a known-good bulb and functioning door switch.
When diagnosing the problem, I discovered that the ice door was not properly sealing and that the solenoid had appeared to rust/corrode forcing the door open. I replaced most of the ice dispenser internals (solenoid, crank, door, and spring) following the video. The door will now open when dispensing ice (which it does!), and will oddly stay open for a few seconds once I am finished, but does seal properly and the chute/container no longer frosts over. This replacement motor powers the dispenser's auger/crusher mechanism to move ice from the bucket to the chute. Replacing a weak or seized motor helps restore reliable cube or crushed-ice dispensing from the freezer door.
I watched the help videos first, then ordered the parts, and installed all items as in the video. Read more
Door solenoid with plunger.
I ordered a new solenoid and when it arrived, I installed it as follows: I cut the power to the refrigerator. I then pulled off the rubber boot (and it's plastic frame) that covers the water switch. Then I removed the bezel that covers the front of the ice maker controls by pulling it straight out. Then I removed the four screws found on the assembly under the bezel. After pulling the assembly forward a bit, I detached the multi-wire connector attached to it and put the assembly aside.... Read more
The recess door retainer secures the dispenser's ice chute flapper in the refrigerator door. Replacing a cracked or missing retainer restores proper flapper pivot and sealing to help reduce frost buildup and air leaks around the dispenser.
Replaced springs, flapper assembly and ice door retainer as described in videos and it was easy. So far so good..water dispenses. Read more
This power cord assembly supplies electrical power from the wall outlet to your refrigerator. Replace a cut, frayed, or overheated cord to restore safe, reliable operation and eliminate intermittent power loss caused by a damaged cord. What it does:

This screw fastens appliance panels, brackets, and trim so parts stay secure and aligned. Replace a missing, stripped, or rusty screw to stop rattles and restore a tight, factory fit.
The auger gearbox shaft had a spot that was stripped of threads which prevented the auger drive from spinning the ice down the chute. I replaced the auger motor/gearbox assembly, the auger drive as it had to be cut off the shaft, and the 3 mount bolts that hold it all in place. Whole job took 30 minutes from start to finish which included cutting off the drive bracket. Read more

I ordered a replacement auger from AppliancePartsPros.com. Upon receipt of the new auger, I watched the repair video and took the ice crusher apart. I found several other parts that needed to be replaced as well. Once All the parts were received, I again watched the video. The video was not specific enough to show how to reassemble the ice crusher blades and the two types of washers. I found another video on YouTube that walked me through specific details of assembly and everything went... Read more
