I started with the suspension pad kit and the tub suspension pads. I do have to say if you have an older model washer (mine is approx 17 years old) be prepared to let the inner tub sit in penetrating oil for a few days before attempting to take the tub out. First, DO NOT call Sears for parts, their call center knows nothing about the product. App-Pros are the best for help and the right parts. I figured to repair, replace all seals and any item that shows need to and all items that have to do with the spin that may be bad. Repair videos great help. My parents have the older 80 series washer and dryer that gets used way more than a consumer washer and dryer was ever meant to be used. The washing machine finally said im tired. During the spin cycle it was making a really loud squealing noise and during the agitation cycle it would barely agitate the clothes. First I looked at the many you tube vids, and there are many. appliance parts pros pretty much shows you how to deal with the parts. I changed the brake shoes and the clutch assembly which also comes with the driver cam. I also changed the metal brake operating cam. I think that brake lockup or improper brake release was the problem that broke the plastic cam driver. This was the broken plastic part making all the ticking noise. When I removed the cabinet, all of the springs appeared in tact, I had already replaced the counter balance spring so I knew that was not the issue. None of the suspension springs or brackets were broken but they did look worn/rusty so I replaced all of the brackets (2 in front and 1 large in back), all of the suspension spring retainers, and all of the suspension springs and it fixed the issue!
