Poped off plastics caseing inside the frigerator. Unscrewed 4 screws holding black fan inplace. Followed yellow wire to locate white sensor. Need to be careful not to break styrofoam, don't force it, it should seporate from plastic easy as long as the 4 screws are out. Swap it for the new one and button it back up. Plastic support bracket that secures the freezer handle to the door. Replace if cracked, broken, or missing to properly mount your handle assembly.
Replaced broken handle support bracket (part #AP5620448) and cap (part #AP5620751). Used a phillips head screwdriver and allen wrench. Pliers also came in very handy. If replacing cap and support bracket, be sure to install cap before support bracket, otherwise you'll have trouble installing the cap. I ended up not needing to replace the fixer handle (part #AP4372038), but I'll keep it around just in case. Read more

I ordered the French door housing, the new piece has a solid raised curved part that enters the guide, and a new center hinge. I watched both repair videos shown on appliance parts Pro. It looked pretty simple, so I got my 2 screw drivers and unplugged the refrigerator and started. The hardest part was removing the upper and lower hinges. Replaces the hinge that operates the center flap on French door refrigerators. Needed when the plastic hinge clip is cracked, broken, or detached from the spring mechanism.
I loosened middle hinge by the 2 screws which holds a power cord that clips together, then slid the hinge flap upward to release from the door. My bottom clip hinge was broken away from spring and the only way to attach a new hinge clip was to carefully separate the hinge flap. After searching for information, the best guess was a defrost problem, so I first fully defrosted and reset the ice maker (this is the recommendation of Samsung and others on the net). The easiest repair I've ever done. I originally thought (after watching some youtube tutorials) I would need to replace the spring on the flap, but it is not accessible on our Samsung model. Undid the two screws holding the flap to the fridge door, pop it up off the other supports, and un-clip it from the power cord. Put the new flap on the same way and all done!
