On my Jenn-Air downdraft range, the oven stopped heating. The broiler still worked. So pulled the pan off the bottom so I could see and found the igniter wasn't glowing to start the gas. Followed linked video instructions and replaced with new flat style Oven Igniter Kit. Some repair info background, while out shopping for a replacement oven ($1000 plus) a terrific salesman listened to the issue with my current oven and recalled his same issue and solution. I determined the hidden bake element below the oven cavity was not working, because the bottom of the oven was cold during normal use. If you have a built-in microwave + oven combination (mine is KitchenAid Model No. KEMS308SSS05), this is a difficult repair. Spoke to a parts pro and told them of the problem. there were 2 possibilieies from the explanation of what the parts do. onw could have been the Range oven igniter. that wasn't it beaacause the over was lighting fine. by process of illimination it was the Oven Sensor Assembly. Read more

Took the stove apart*, saw where the mouse had made a nest. It was kind of like a hotel room after a rock star had used it. It was nasty, is what I'm saying. Online videos made this seem an easy fix. I unplugged the oven and removed the rear panel, then found where the temp sensor entered the oven. I unplugged the sensor's electric connector. Unlike the videos, this sensor screwed in from the inside of the oven, so I had to remove the 2 screws inside the oven which hold the sensor in place. The bake (bottom burner) worked after replacing the ignitor. Becareful and do not drop the ignitor or the element will break. I found out the hard way. I took the cover off the transmission and determined that the only possible knocking had to be coming from the yoke. I ordered a new yoke and all the tub seals needed to put it back together like new. I also ordered a new drive pulley bearing because this bearing is always turning whenever the washer is used.
