Dryer not heating or takes multiple cycles to dry? This hi-limit thermal fuse cuts power when temps exceed safe limits. Moderate DIY repair, about 1 hour.
Checked and cleaned vent which was in need of cleaning, but not too bad (I do not consider this a primary causal detail, but can be a problem, so clean yours). Replaced Hi-Limit Thermostat (safety thermostat) after confirming the circuit was open with ohm meter. While I was in there, I completely cleaned the heater and ducting and internal workings of the dryer. Confirmed the heater coils were good via 20ohm, 20ohm, 40ohm readings (LG service manual has wrong readings). Two weeks later, same... Read more
Drum support roller assembly for dryers. Installs inside the cabinet to support the drum during rotation. Replace when worn, flat-spotted, or broken.
I consulted with the internet and your website and determined I had a bad roller wheel. I was going to buy just one but determined if you have to take the thing apart, just replace all of them. These lasted 10 years after all. Opened up You Tube for the method to take the dryer apart. After doing the washer last year, I felt pretty bold and just ripped into the project. Within 30 minutes I had the drum out and located the problem wheel ( rear right side). It was locked up due to hair build up... Read more
Connects the motor to the drum so it can tumble. Replace if the drum won't spin, makes squealing noises, or clothes aren't drying. Confirm fit by model number.
I disassembled/reassembled the dryer according to the ApplianceParts Youtube video. With my limited electrical knowledge (just enough to be dangerous) I initially figured it was a problem with the heating unit, sensor(s), or the control board. After diagnosing the problem (bad thermistor), I had to order the parts and was able to repair and reassemble the dryer several days later. After removing the drum, I cleaned all the dust etc. out of the inside (it gets dirty in there!) and inspected,... Read more
Dryer not heating or shutting off mid-cycle? A faulty blower thermostat disrupts airflow regulation. Front-access repair with basic tools in 30-60 minutes.
Dryer not sensing when clothes are dry? Replace the moisture sensor bar to restore auto-dry cycles. Moderate DIY repair with video guide available.
After I cleaned out the typical 1.5 pounds of lint from the vent, ( I do it every 2 months), I went searching for a solution. I found 6 possible causes on this site and purchased everything except a new burner; I wasn't going to go that far. Let the fun begin. Since my vacuum was still nearby, I thought I was ready for anything. Wrong. After I watched all the videos again for reassurance, I went in with screwdriver in hand and laptop nearby. I removed the top and looked inside. Don't be fooled,... Read more
Captures lint and debris during drying cycles. Replace when the seal becomes compressed or frame cracks to maintain efficiency and prevent vent clogs.
We had a problem of lint building up inside of the filter slot. Once I took a long brush and cleaned the recess where the filter slides I was able to see that the old filter was not catching all the lint. Upon closer examination I noticed that the seal around the filter had become compressed. that's when I order another filter from AppliancePartsPros.com. My new filter came within three days and my dryer has been working fine ever since then. Read more
Maintains tension on your dryer's drum belt for smooth rotation. Replace if pulley wheel is cracked, shaft worn, or assembly moves excessively during operation.
Was going to order 4 new wheel & spindle sets, then saw you could get just the wheel for 1/3 the cost, so I ordered those. Then in the frequently ordered other items I saw the idler wheel assy. So I ordered one of those also. Glad I did, it was in worse shape than any of the wheels which still seemed to spin freely after I got all the hairs and crap off them. Anyways, went by the video step by step. Pretty straightforward. Have a good vacuum handy, I’m surprised that it used to dry at all... Read more
Replace your dryer drum seal when clothes take longer to dry or you notice lint buildup. Maintains heat efficiency and prevents air leaks. Confirm fit with your model number.
From reading "troubleshooting" sites on the internet, originally thought I'd be replacing the front & rear drum rollers, so I ordered the rollers, and a new belt before I opened up the dryer, taking it out of use. When I opened it up the front rollers were "shot", and the front bulkhead was "totaled". Waited for parts to arrive (within 2 days), and successfully replaced front & rear rollers, bulkhead, drum seal. The on-line videos really helped me ensure I was keeping in the right order. My... Dryer not heating or overheating and shutting off? This thermostat assembly regulates temperature to prevent damage. Easy DIY repair in about 1 hour.
Cover that secures the lint filter housing in place. Replacement needed when original is cracked, broken, or split from normal wear or impact damage.
The dryer is 10 years old. I replaced all 4 roller wheels. While I had it apart I also replaced the drive belt and the idler pulley assembly. Once I had it apart I did find 2 wheels that were very worn, (1 front, 1 back) which is what I believe the problem was as they were also very hard to spin. Dryer works like new now. The repair video was VERY helpful. Read more

Idler pulley maintains tension on the dryer belt. Replace if worn, cracked, or causing belt slippage. Installs between motor and drum support system.
I have an LG dryer purchased in 2007. Model: DLE9577SM. It was squeaking at start-up and rumbling a little. Not knowing what parts I would actually need, I ordered rollers with/without assemblies, tensioner pulley-only, new belt. After viewing this video a couple of times, I attacked my machine which is located in the comfort of my garage. Lots of room to spread out. Nice. This disassembly went OK however because, I suspect, my machine is 13 years old, the removal of the control panel was... Read more
Secures the moisture sensor inside your dryer drum. Replace if the holder is cracked, broken, or missing to restore proper sensor positioning and function.
We called a repairman out who was rude, obnoxious and seemingly incompetent. After an hour of dissembling our dryer, he quickly slapped it back together and told us it would be $200 to fix. No other explanation. We sent him on his way and I found your site, found the ($5) part and watched the 5 min repair video. Ordered the part and had it in our hands in less than 48 hours. I had the dryer repaired in 20 min. Saved us a lot of money and made me feel pretty good about my own normally meager... Read more

Side venting kit for dryers. Redirects exhaust from rear to side of cabinet. Perfect when space is limited or side venting is preferred over rear.
This was a pretty simple install if you know how to take apart your dryer. I have a kenmore dryer which is identical to an LG dryer. My kenmore dryer was actually made by LG at that time. You can find the specific model on youtube and see how your dryer comes apart. While doing this i cleaned all the inner parts of my dryer. The parts that come in the kit can be bought at home depot for much less but you don't know what length you need. I ordered the kit so I could have the back plate and... Read more
