When bake was set, the stove would function normally, it would show pre-heating then get up to temperature and beep twice like normal when it reached the set temperature. Shortly after it would start beeping and scroll “ fault detected, press start to try again” across the display. This model stove does use the broil element for backing but it... Read more
Oven won't light or heat? A failing igniter is the most common cause. This gas range igniter is a straightforward DIY repair, taking about 30 minutes.
I replaced the Oven Igniter. After ensuring that it was the igniter, by turning on the stove and taking out the oven bottom. Watch if it turns red. If not, then either the wiring is faulty, or the igniter went bad. The bulb was due to a loose and broken light bulb, can't use any normal bulb, these ones are specially made to withstand the heat. And the oven bottom was warped due repeatedly heating up and cooling down over the years. It took a fair bit of time to get the new one in, since it was... Read more

Mice nesting in your oven? Replace damaged insulation wrap to restore heat retention and cooking performance. Wraps around oven cavity. DIY-friendly.
Took the stove apart*, saw where the mouse had made a nest. It was kind of like a hotel room after a rock star had used it. It was nasty, is what I'm saying. I removed the insulation, which immediately went into a garbage bag and was placed outside, whereupon I took off and nuked the site from orbit. It was the only way to be sure (actually it was disposed of in the proper manner, no nukes were detonated in the course of this repair). Anyway, I ordered the insulation from this site, which was... If your gas burner won't light or sparks weakly, corroded igniter screws may be the cause. These mounting screws secure the igniter to the burner assembly.
Replaced old igniter. also purchased new screws for burner and igniter assembly since old screws were corroded from spilled food/fluids etc over the years. made the installation much easier. If you need to replace a worn igniter, do yourself a favor and go to hardware store and get matching replacement screws or buy new with igniter. Now my front right burner lights every time with just a click or two. Very pleased. Read more
