Description
The primer bulb is a small rubber component with a plastic adapter that forces fuel from the tank into the fuel line and then into the carburetor when pressed down. The carburetor is the part of the engine that mixes air and fuel. Most small engines will not start if the carburetor is dry. The primer bulb primes the engine before starting. It is pressed and released to create a vacuum that draws fuel into the intake fuel line that deposits the fuel into the carburetor, making it ready or primed for combustion.
Over time, the primer bulb can lose its elasticity and crack, which will lead to the need for a replacement. Replacing the primer bulb can improve equipment performance drastically and can be completed in minutes.
