If the tub is no longer spinning properly or is making a loud noise as it rubs against the washer, it will need to be replaced. Thankfully, replacing this part is a relatively simple process. To replace the outer tub, start by making sure the washer is unplugged. After that, remove the front panel of the washer. Once removed, lift up the top panel so that it is no longer covering the outer tub. Next, locate the mounting bolts that secure the tub and unthread them using a socket wrench. Once removed, lift the tub out from the washer. Replace with the new tub and secure the mounting bolts. Reinstall the front panel and plug the washer back in.
