This latch and handle assembly operates the manual oven door lock on select ranges. Replacing a worn or broken lever restores positive door locking so the self-clean cycle can run safely and the door stays secure.
I replaced the latch and handle assembly. It's easy when you see how it goes together. Unscrew the two screws under the front edge of the stovetop, have a helper lift the stovetop up, unscrew the six screws holding the metal plate down and remove the plate, unplug the wires connected to the latch switch, and unscrew the two front screws holding the latch assembly in place.
