This is a relay control board that manages power delivery to the surface burners on an electric range, including simmer functions. This is an electromechanical defrost timer that controls the automatic defrost cycle in a refrigerator. It periodically switches the compressor off and activates the defrost heater to melt frost buildup on the evaporator coils. Replace this timer if your refrigerator is not defrosting properly, frost is building up excessively on the back wall of the freezer, or the compressor runs continuously without cycling into defrost mode.
I replaced the Thermostat and Defrost Timer. It was a fairly easy repair other than removing the old Defrost Timer. The way the manufacturer, in this case, Amana, mounts that unit with "clips" is just poor design and engineering. It is virtually impossible to get the timer out without damaging the mounts. Made by Bosch. Common program control module for Bosch dishwashers SHU53/68. NOTE The manufacturer has redesigned the cover and indicator lights. Lights may be covered by the plastic case. You may have to remove the square covers over the indicator lights if needed. The same case is used for 6 and 8 indicator light models. They also no longer use the red bulb indicator lights, small surface mounted lights are used instead. If you require the Jumper Wire that goes with certain models, the part number is 00167782.
This is a common problem with the Bosch product evidently. After watching the on-line instructional video, I ordered the control module from APP. The part arrived quickly and the replacement of the module was very easy.
