Steven G Frankston , TX July 28, 2017 Appliance: Model WF448AAP-XAA FRONT LOAD WASHER The washer would not do anything at all The washer would not drain the water during the spin cycle. After I decided the washer drain pump was the most likely cause of the problem I drained the water out and went to the Samsung website. I then viewed a video of the repair. It was very straightforward and seemed to be something I could do myself. I ordered the washer drain pump and also a door lock. Both parts were delivered overnight and by the next afternoon it was mission accomplished! My wife say's the washer must have been gradually getting less efficient because now it winds up like a 747 instead of a Piper Cub! Thanks for a very well designed washer that every man can fix. Thanks for the video. I will buy Samsung appliances every time because of the quality and craftsmanship designed in to each product. Steve G, Extremely Happy Customer! Dave S Wingdale , NY September 30, 2016 Code nd I had to remove the front of the unit. Was then able to access the hoses to check if any were clogged, found some debris. But nothing clogged. I then removed the pump motor. Pulled it apart and found the magnet on the shaft split the full length. (Seems to be a common problem) installed the new one. And all is good at this time. Sean C Springfield , OR March 12, 2014 Error code "dc" displayed on the Samsung washing machine control panel along with excessive growling noise when the drain pump would run. Unplugged the washer, shut-off the water hoses, and removed the back cover plate from the washer. The drain pump on this model is located in the rear on the right side - very convenient to access. Installed a large pair of hose crimping pliers on the inlet hose to the drain pump so I didn't have to drain the water from the tub. Removed the drain pump to check it for debris. Found that the pump impeller was stripped on the shaft, the shaft seal in the motor had failed, and the motor was filled with water. Ordered a new drain pump assembly which arrived within 2 days. Swapped the drain pump plastic housing from the old pump to the new one. Installed the new assembly back in the washer. Removed and cleaned out the drain hose. Hooked up all connections and test ran. No code and more water draining now than had been in a long time. Note that it took some repositioning of the hose clamp on the inlet hose to get it to reseat on the inlet neck of the drain pump. Had a small leak develop after the first load was run. Very easy fix considering the manual said to call a service technician! Gregory R Hillsborough , NC October 19, 2015 Appliance: Model SAMSUNG W5451ANW/XAA Washer not draining and appears to lock up; intermittent 'nd' code After researching it was determined the drain pump motor had burned out. Ordered a replacement through AppliancePartsPros.com. The website included a video on replacing the pump on a washer nearly identical to mine. The video was very helpful in identifying all things to look for in extracting the old pump and reinstalling the new pump. The new pump installation took a little longer than recommended but that was mostly out of caution. Since the new installation the washer has been running fantastic. It appears the old pump, when working, was not draining completely as there is a noticeable difference in draining for the new pump.
