How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP4011179 / 12112425 Washer Pump And Drive Belt Kit

Replaced pump. 

Watched the video then followed the process. 

I purchased new belts and motor tensioning kit. I watched the repair video and it was a simple repair. This did not fix the problem however, but it was a good thing to replace them. After installation the washer still did nothing. I had not tried it before, but took the owners word that it wouldn't empty. I then removed the control panel and started checking electrical connections. That was the problem, and with power restored the washer was back in service. 

Drained tub by bailing out most of water, then disconnected hose to pump and drained most into a pail. Found pump puller spinning with motor but impeller was not turning on shaft. Ordered new pump, hoses and belt kit. Repair took 5 minutes to complete with new parts!

I did some research and came across this website I purchased both the drive and pump belts took my tablet to the laundry room and did step by step what this video was showing me and I am happy to say my clothes are no longer coming out super wet. I replaced the mounting stem and rubber washer. At the same time, I also replaced the washer's tub bearing and the washer's drive belt. The mounting stem, rubber washer, and tub bearing were never replaced before (14 year old washer). I followed the repair video on AppliancePartsPros.com's web site, which made the repair very easy.

I replaced both belts, reset the pump belt tension, and applied white lithium grease to the motor guide rails. After the belt replacement the washer still wouldn't agitate, but using a long screwdriver to push the motor forward and apply more tension to the drive belt allowed the belt to seat and grip the motor and drum pulleys fixing the no agitation issue. It has worked flawlessly since.
