There was 2 screws on top to remove a vent director giving access to a single screw that held the control panel in place. The video shown was completely incorrect for the gasket needed on my range. I had to remove the door, disassemble the inside panel, and remove the old gasket. I suggest you have assistance when doing this. Putting on the new gasket was challenging but not impossible for a do it your selfer. I could hear the dryer motor hum, but it would not run. There was nothing obstructing the motor from turning freely so I assumed I needed a new motor. I went ahead and ordered a new pulley switch to change out while I was in there just in case. The parts arrived faster than expected. Took top apart to find out that the problem was just the lens for the light was broken. Come to find out that the lens is what holds the light in place. Easy fix. Pulled out the range and disconnected power cord. Unscrewed two screws in front of unit. Tilted smoothtop open toward rear of stove. Propped a piece of wood to keep it open. Removed burned out Indicator bulb and its plastic housing. Disconnected two wires attached. Installed new bulb and its housing attaching the two wires...housing clicked into hole where old one was removed. Closed top and re-attached two screws... Now works fine. Read more
This is the rear-facing control panel (backsplash) located at the top back of the dryer where the cycle selector knobs and buttons are mounted. It provides the mounting surface and housing for the dryer's user controls. Replace this panel if it is cracked, discolored, warped from heat exposure, or if the control knob mounting points are damaged.
After unplugging the dryer, I removed knobs and control panel. I removed the 3 connectors to start switch. I had to cut and replace one connector due to shorted wire which burnt the connector. I attached new connector and then attached these to start switch. I then remounted all three switches to new control panel and reattached control panel to dryer. Plugged in and started right up!
