Replacement tub bearing for top-load washers. Fixes grinding, roaring, or loud humming noises during spin cycles. Verify fit with your model number.
I had never worked on a washing machine before but after watching the online videos I felt like I could do the repair. I was almost positive it was the Mode Shifter and Shaft Assembly that was bad. I could hear the bearing making a grinding noise when I turned the tub by hand. I ordered the part I needed plus additional parts that could be an issue later such as a drive belt, tub bearing, tub seal, tub nut, split ring, etc; Preventive maintenance that would keep from having to tear it all... Fix a dryer that won't advance cycles or stops mid-cycle with this timer control assembly. Easy DIY repair with simple panel removal in under an hour.
After taking the timer apart to see why it would not turn I found the timer motor was jammed. Taking the motor apart I found a broken gear. Looked up the model number of the dryer and found a new timer assembly thru appliancepartspros.com I ordered, a very easy process, received the part 2 days later. Installed the assembly in about 5minutes and had the dryer back up and running Read more

Stores and chills water inside your refrigerator before dispensing. Replace if cracked, leaking, or damaged to restore proper water storage function.
Our refrigerator takes care of my wife and I, along with our children when they visit, and the grand kids. Over the years, it's seen its fair share of wear and tear. Thankfully, nothing major has happened that hasn't been able to be repaired right here in the home, and by me. Our refrigerator is a GE side-by-side with an ice maker/water dispenser, and has held up well. I've ordered parts for it from AppliancePartsPros.com for all of its repairs, and while GE/Frigidaire have been changing out a... Read more

Microwave won't stop running or starts when door closes? A faulty door switch is likely the cause. This safety switch is a 45-minute DIY fix.
The first symptom was our microwave would continue to run after the time was up. The light would go out, the turn table would stop but you could still hear the microwave running and whatever was in it would continue to cook. The only way to stop it was to open the door. It was intermittent at first but eventually it would always run no matter what as long as the door was closed. Several other posts referenced these switches as the problem. I just replaced both and problem gone. It turns out... Read more
Supports and stabilizes the dryer drum for smooth rotation. Replace if shaft is worn, bearing is damaged, or drum wobbles or sinks at the rear.
I replaced the slide bearings a few years back. A few months later the rear bearing started to go so I replaced that one. Bad idea. Replace these two at the same time. The wobbling from the rear bearing failure caused accelerated wear on the slide bearings. Without the money to fix it I ran it as it was. Another bad idea. The drum not only chewed through the slide bearings, but eventually the assembly as well. I replaced the whole assembly and rear bearing at one time a couple days ago. It was... Read more
Supports the rear dryer drum for smooth, quiet rotation. Replace if you hear squeaking, screeching, or thumping during cycles. Verify fit with your model.
First symptoms were squeaking drum. This is probably when new glide strips might have been all that we needed. But I put off fixing it... and I put it off some more. Noises got louder, squeaking became screeching, then it started to vibrate loudly. The front drum bearing (really just a plastic arch that the drum rides on) had broken, and with the drum in a canted position, the rear bearing sleeve got messed up too. I ordered the front drum support bearing, and also a rear drum bearing... Read more

Replace your top-load washer drive belt when you hear squealing, see the drum not spinning, or notice wear. Connects motor to drum for wash cycles. Verify fit with your model number.
After researching the problem on this site, I realized that the most likely cause was a bad bearing contained in the shaft & tube assembly. Essentially, the tub seal failed & allowed water to travel down the shaft & into the housing containing the bearing. I confirmed this by pulling the front cover off of the unit & noticed some brown water pooled directly under the shaft & tube assembly. I followed the disassembly instructions on this site & it wasn't too bad but did take some time as pretty... Read more
Replaces broken or worn tub dampening straps that stabilize your washer's inner tub during operation. Restores proper suspension to reduce vibration.
My 9-year-old GE washer, in which I replaced the motor two years ago, developed an extremely loud roaring sound during the spin cycle. After reviewing stories here to pinpoint the problem, I replaced the tub bearing, mode shifter, and tub seal. I also installed a new tub nut, split washer, and belt. This repair involves taking the washer apart in order to get at the tub bearing and mode shifter, which are inconveniently located in the very center of the machine. I bagged labeled all the... Replacement silverware basket for dishwashers. Holds utensils and flatware securely during wash cycles. Needed when original basket is cracked or broken.
Our GE was installed about 8 years ago and was AWESOME for much of its early life. However, progressively its cleaning ability diminished. By replacing all the spray arms (clogged with debris), filters, drain hose, and sump...this dishwasher cleans like it did when it was new! Cost was around $100 (also replaced a wheel and the silverware basket) and labor was relatively simple. And to think...my mother-in-law said, "Wouldn't it just be easier to buy a new one?!?". Fix F2 or F3 error codes with a new oven temperature sensor. Restores accurate heating when your oven shuts off or won't maintain temperature. 10-15 min DIY.
In the middle of Christmas baking, I noticed that it was taking a really long time to bake bread. Since I had already done 5 batches and the timing was always the same, I knew when I had to add 20 min, something was wrong. My oven thermometer (I bought at target) no longer worked so it was hard to tell the exact temperature. First, I went and bought a new thermometer to see the actual temp, then I set the oven to 350 degrees and checked to see what the thermometer was showing. It was almost 50... Read more
