This is an ice maker assembly that is made to be installed on refrigerator and freezer units. This part includes both the ice maker and the housing. The purpose of this part is to make ice that can then be dispensed. In the event that the ice maker is no longer making ice cubes, the ice maker assembly will need to be replaced. Over time, this component could become cracked or broken due to exposure to cold temperatures. Be sure to unplug the refrigerator from the power source before replacing this part. Store any food that could perish in a temperature safe location so that it doesn't go bad during the replacement process. The ice maker is sold individually and sourced straight from the manufacturer. This specific part is compatible with refrigerator and freezer units that are manufactured by the KitchenAid, Whirlpool, Kenmore, Kenmore Elite, Amana, Crosley, Maytag, and Inglis brands.

Icemake stopped making ice Scott S. • Culver Drive , CA • June 27, 2014
We had a sears tech come out and "inspect" our freezer - he said it was one of the 2 vales behind the fridge that needed to be replaced. I found them for 50 bucks each on amazon... but then I thought I might shop around.
Then i found this kit - that has the 2 valves AND the icemaker assembly for basically the same price.
I went ahead and swapped out the icemaker assembly since it didn't involve getting behind the fridge. the next morning - BOOM ice. lots of ice.
amazed. and happy.

This PTC start relay plugs onto the compressor to momentarily power the start winding and help the compressor spin up smoothly. Replacing a failed relay can stop repetitive clicking and help restore stable cooling performance. What it does:
- Momentarily energizes the compressor's start winding at startup; the PTC element then increases resistance to take the start winding out of the circuit.
- Helps protect against repeated hard-start attempts that cause clicking and no-cool conditions.
- Common failure signs include repeated clicking, the compressor not starting, warm temperatures, burn marks/melted housing, or a relay that rattles when shaken.
- Mounts directly on the compressor terminals and interfaces with the model-specific overload and cover.
What's included:
Install notes:
- Disconnect power and allow components to cool before servicing.
- Access the compressor compartment; remove any cover/retainer to reach the start device.
- Note wiring and orientation; pull the old relay straight off the compressor pins and push the new relay fully onto the pins. Reconnect wires and reinstall the cover.
- Use only the start device specified for your exact model/compressor. If the old relay shows heat damage, inspect the matching overload and wiring for issues.
This part fixes the following symptoms
-
Freezer section too warm
-
Won't start

Freezer and refrigerator boxes not holding temperature Robert N. • Bonita Springs , FL • May 01, 2015
After running some tests I determined that the problem was a bad defrost timer. The timer
would occasionally fail to trigger the compressor to restart at the end of the defrost cycle.
Since I had the unit taken apart, I replaced the termination t-stat and the compressor start relay at the same time.
Parts came quick 1.5 days, job completed and the unit is up and running.

Refrigerator and freezer not cooling. Tom C. • Dorchester , MA • March 06, 2021
Tested start relay and fan with multimeter both passed.
The condenser would start only if the thermostat was on the highest setting and the refrigerator would cool for a while, stop and not restart unless I adjusted the defrost timer. Decided to replace the thermostat, defrost timer and defrost thermostat. The refrigerator is working as expected. FYI on a Kenmore 59669142992 the defrost timer is located under the freezer in the front right.

- Helps maintain even temperatures and stable cabinet conditions
- Common symptoms: no fan sound or airflow in the freezer, refrigerator warming while freezer may stay colder, intermittent starting/stalling, or squealing/grinding from the fan area
- Supports temperature recovery after door openings by maintaining airflow
What's included: 1 evaporator fan motor Install notes:
- Unplug the refrigerator before servicing
- Access from the freezer: remove shelves/ice bin and the rear panel to reach the motor
- Transfer the fan blade and mounting hardware in the same orientation; avoid damaging evaporator fins or wiring

Used Google to troubleshoot the issue. Inside the freezer I took the back off. Noticed two things. The evaporator motor was not turning and the top half of the coils were frozen over. Obvious fan not spinning issue. I felt the motor and it was hot. Spun the fan it it started spinning. Put it all back together. Ran OK for 5-6 more days then same issue. Ice maker leaking water into ice container through ice maker Matthew V. • Knoxville , TN • November 22, 2015
After some research on the internet,I found out that the most likely cause was a failed water inlet valve. The refrigerator is quite old so I wasn't going to spend an arm and leg on it to fix it. I was pleasantly surprised to find the part, at a reasonable price, that I needed on this website with a helpful how-to video to boot. The part I needed wasn't in stock.
