I checked the drain hose for blocking at the garbage disposal and then at the connection point to the dishwasher. The hose was clear and nothing was obviously obstructing where the drain hose connects to the dishwasher. I had no hope of separating the panel from the frame without damaging the frame since the two parts were rusted pretty badly and the screws holding the panel to the frame were completely beyond salvage. So I had to replace both the panel and the frame. I ended up removing the electrical/electronic connections, removing the panel/frame from the hinge and then replacing it with the new parts. I nearly shelled out for a new Kitchenaid when I remembered APP and entered my model # just for fun. The interactive diagrams and install videos showed where all the parts "should" be, mine were badly disintegrated, so I replaced the damaged ones and swapped out all of the other easily accessible seals and bearings (also gave it a good and very disturbing cleaning). I replaced both support springs. It took several tries to get the springs installed in the correct orientation, even though I had read--and thought I understood--the instructions. The retainer side pin must be fed through the slot with the adjustment notches, and then latch it in the proper notch.
