Ordered front panel and panel control. Also ordered name plate (did not need) front panel already has it. My husband and I had it switched out in approx 10 minutes. Took longer to gather proper tools than it did to do the repair. Looks awesome and original!

Rusted tines on upper and lower racks Michelle L. • Sussex , WI • October 19, 2018
Kitchen Aid dishwasher is 11 years old, and the tines have been rusting and biting the dust one by over the last few years. Rather than further destroy my dishes by abrading them with rust particles, I decided to get new racks. They are terribly expensive, and I pondered getting a new dishwasher. It wouldn't be that much more expensive. But I love mine and how well it washes. It has a stainless interior, and all of the seals are in excellent shape. I didn't need any tools. (Although I'm a...

Door kept un latching during wash cycle Rolland W. • Hilton Head , SC • March 04, 2015
Tried bending the strike to get a firmer grip, but no luck. Replaced the door latch and strike. Washer is about ten years old. You can feel the new catch has a more positive engagement. When you replace the strike, be sure not to tilt it downward in front. It will go in the way but it will keep the door from closing. Not sure I needed to replace the strike but didn't want to risk more downtime.

We ordered the part and watched the video which was very helpful. The repair job was simple but not easy for two 80 year olds b/c of the awqwardness of where the screws had to go.

Kitchenaid dishwasher kudp02frss2 leak at float switch at front right of unit Richard B. • Mahwah , NJ • December 02, 2016
Removed bottom cover, located leak at float switch, removed and replaced float switch kit.
The toughest part of the repair was removing the Float & Retainer Assembly (in the interior of the machine tank) which broke when I pushed it back and pulled it straight up as suggested in the service manual. The Float Switch Kit (attached to, and below the float, below and outside the tank) has a folding plastic cover which fastens with plastic clips. If you open the switch kit before removing the...

Dishwasher door popping opening Paul M. • Chester , NJ • November 04, 2018
We scoured the web and there are few references to this so I want to add it in case it helps.
Replacing hinges solved the popping opening issue.
We could not solve our dishwasher door issue after a number of other tries: Latch, Catch, Ropes that attach to the springs that pull the door closed.
I tend to believe the solve could be different b/c all these things work together. But for us, we were skeptical that the hinge swap would work and we were very pleasantly surprised.

A shout out to A.P.P.: Quality parts always come quickly and are what I ordered. No, they are not always the cheapest nor do they have all parts for everything (who does?) but their website is the easiest to use and cost differences are usually slight. I have found A.P.P. trustworthy and reliable for the ten or so purchases I've made. This repair process requires that the DW be completely free from cabinet sidewalls. For me that meant pulling the DW from its installed undercounter space. I...

Dishwasher door panel was rusting Prashant K. • Fishers , IN • October 11, 2014
I had no hope of separating the panel from the frame without damaging the frame since the two parts were rusted pretty badly and the screws holding the panel to the frame were completely beyond salvage. So I had to replace both the panel and the frame. I ended up removing the electrical/electronic connections, removing the panel/frame from the hinge and then replacing it with the new parts. Took about 90 minutes but the hardest part was removing other items from the rusting frame without...

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You
Water leaking from the area proximate to the motor Nathan S. • Salt Lake City , UT • January 19, 2015
I reviewed the schematic and saw the Volute Seal, and Impeller Seal were the two that were closest my source of water. After watching the video about changing the Impeller/seal I removed the motor, impeller, and volute; I found that the impeller seal was the faulty one in my case. Since I'd ordered the volute and impeller seal kits (as I wasn't sure which it was) I installed both while I had it apart. Runs great, no water - simple to do. The seal changes took about 20 minutes. The only...
