Barry Marsh for Model Number FGHD2433KF1

When washer is set for quick wash, the display starts out at 50 minutes and starts to count down for a few minutes while running then suddenly switches to 99 minutes and runs a normal wash cycle. This has been going on for some time so I don't think its related to the problem below. Also, I have just replaced the water fill valve as the water level was low and its still low. The float is free, the water comes in but the water level never gets high enough to actuate the float.

Barry, Based on the information it sounds like the control board would be the issue with the unit going from 50 minutes to 99 minutes and be in normal wash. As far as the water level goes you will want to check to make sure that the water valve is not clogged and if not then it could be the control causing this issue also.

Janet, The ER UO error indicates a vent open error. While in wash cycle, Main Control Board does not receive signal from vent assembly that vent plunger is closed. Plunger status is sensed with optical sensor in vent assembly. Check wiring between vent assembly and Main Control Board. If wiring correct, replace vent assembly. If error still exist, replace Main Control Board.

Steven, Yes, you want to start by replacing the control panel assembly 807545704. It is the more likely issue, based on your description. The number 8, and the other buttons not working indicates several keypad circuits have failed and are inputting too many circuits and causing the control board to "lock up" and not operate.

Amy R for Model Number FGHD2433KF1

My frigidaire gallery dishwasher model#FGHD2433KF1 has sporadic problems with the computer panel. First the NORMAL WASH cycle button wouldn't work and now the START/STOP button works off&on. I can use a different cycle but then hit START and it won't start. I keep mashing it and mashing it and finally it will start. Sometimes I have to walk away and come back several times and mash it and eventually it will start. Sometimes it does fine for days then suddenly the problem starts again. What is causing this? A short? Can a short be fixed or do I need to replace the control board? Or is it the console?

1 Answer

Amy, You will want to access the control board by taking the screws from the inner door panel. With the panel lifted up you will want to check the connection of the ribbon harness from the control panel to the control board. You will want to make sure that there is no corrosion and that the harness is fully seated. If it checks ok then you would want to replace the console as it sounds like the keypad is the issue.

Jason, Yes, the error code that you have represents a Membrane switch failure. Main Control Board has detected a stuck key or a key pressed for more than one minute. Check connection from keypad to Main Control Board. If correct, replace keypad. If error still exist, replace Main Control Board. (Note: washing, drying, and clean s may appear in display when error code is present)
